Wherefore he saith, Awake, thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall shine upon thee.

經云、寢宜寤、死當起、基督賜爾光、

故曰：睡者其興、死者其起！惟彼基督、光明照爾。

This is why it is said:“ Wake up, sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.”

For everything made evident is light, and for this reason it says:“ Awake, O sleeper! Rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you!”

Therefore he says,“ Awake, you who sleep, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.”

Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of Jehovah is risen upon thee.

Thy dead shall live; my dead bodies shall arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in the dust; for thy dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast forth the dead.

And this, knowing the season, that already it is time for you to awake out of sleep: for now is salvation nearer to us than when we first believed.The night is far spent, and the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.

so then let us not sleep, as do the rest, but let us watch and be sober.

Awake, awake, put on thy strength, O Zion; put on thy beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city: for henceforth there shall no more come into thee the uncircumcised and the unclean.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour cometh, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God; and they that hear shall live.For as the Father hath life in himself, even so gave he to the Son also to have life in himself:and he gave him authority to execute judgment, because he is a son of man.Marvel not at this: for the hour cometh, in which all that are in the tombs shall hear his voice,and shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of judgment.

Seeing it is God, that said, Light shall shine out of darkness, who shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

Awake, awake, stand up, O Jerusalem, that hast drunk at the hand of Jehovah the cup of his wrath; thou hast drunken the bowl of the cup of staggering, and drained it.

We were buried therefore with him through baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we also might walk in newness of life.For if we have become united with him in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection;

If then ye were raised together with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated on the right hand of God.

Again therefore Jesus spake unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in the darkness, but shall have the light of life.

Awake to soberness righteously, and sin not; for some have no knowledge of God: I speak this to move you to shame.

When I am in the world, I am the light of the world.

and they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him unto his will.

but hath now been manifested by the appearing of our Saviour Christ Jesus, who abolished death, and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel,

Again he said unto me, Prophesy over these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of Jehovah.Thus saith the Lord Jehovah unto these bones: Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live.And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am Jehovah.So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and, behold, an earthquake; and the bones came together, bone to its bone.And I beheld, and, lo, there were sinews upon them, and flesh came up, and skin covered them above; but there was no breath in them.Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live.So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army.

even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ( by grace have ye been saved),

neither present your members unto sin as instruments of unrighteousness; but present yourselves unto God, as alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

And when he had thus spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.He that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with grave- clothes; and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.

For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee for a light of the Gentiles, That thou shouldest be for salvation unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Because of the tender mercy of our God, Whereby the dayspring from on high shall visit us,
