That same day King Xerxes gave Queen Esther the estate of Haman, the enemy of the Jews. And Mordecai came into the presence of the king, for Esther had told how he was related to her.

That same day King Xerxes gave Queen Esther everything Haman had owned. Haman had been the enemy of the Jews. Esther had told the king that Mordecai was her cousin. So Mordecai came to see the king.

On that day King Ahasuerus gave to Queen Esther the house of Haman, the enemy of the Jews. And Mordecai came before the king, for Esther had told what he was to her.

On that same day King Xerxes gave the property of Haman, the enemy of the Jews, to Queen Esther. Then Mordecai was brought before the king, for Esther had told the king how they were related.

That same day King Ahasuerus awarded Queen Esther the estate of Haman, the enemy of the Jews. Mordecai entered the king’s presence because Esther had revealed her relationship to Mordecai.

On that day King Ahasuerus gave the house of Haman, the enemy of the Jews, to Queen Esther; and Mordecai came before the king, because Esther had disclosed what he was to her.

末底改收養了叔叔的女兒哈大沙，又名以斯帖，把她認作自己的女兒，因為她父母雙亡。這女子體態優美，容貌動人。

以斯帖是末底改的叔叔亞比孩的女兒，後來被末底改收養。輪到她晉見王時，除了管理女子的太監希該給她的東西外，她沒有別的要求。凡看見她的人都喜歡她。

人生不過是幻影，勞碌奔波卻一場空，積蓄財富卻不知誰來享用。

善人為子孫留下產業，罪人給義人積聚財富。

儘管他堆積的銀子多如塵沙，儲存的衣服高若土堆，但義人將穿他儲存的衣服，清白的人將分他堆積的銀子。

但上帝對他說，『無知的人啊！今晚就要取走你的命！你所預備的一切留給誰享用呢？』」

以斯帖回答說：「敵人和仇家就是這惡人哈曼！」哈曼在王和王后面前十分驚恐。

他們倚靠金錢、誇耀財富，卻不能救贖自己的生命，也無法向上帝付生命的贖價。因為生命的贖價高昂，無人付得起，以致可以永遠活著，不進墳墓。眾所周知，即使智者也要死去，愚人和庸者也要滅亡，將他們的財富留給別人。儘管他們用自己的名字來為產業命名，墳墓卻是他們永遠的歸宿，世代的住處。人不能長享富貴，終必死去，與獸無異。這就是愚昧人及其追隨者的下場！（細拉）

那時，靠近王的有甲示拿、示達、押瑪他、他施斯、米力、瑪西拿和米姆干七位波斯和瑪代的大臣，他們常見王的面，在國中身居高位。

我憎惡自己在日光之下勞碌得來的一切，因為這些必留給後人。誰知道那人是智者還是愚人呢？然而，他卻要接管我在日光之下用智慧辛勤經營的產業。這也是虛空。
