For there will be no more false visions or flattering divinations among the people of Israel.

There will be no more false visions. People will no longer use magic to find out whether good things are going to happen in Israel.

Then I said,“ Ah, Lord God! Behold, the prophets say to them,‘ You shall not see the sword, nor shall you have famine, but I will give you assured peace in this place.’”And the Lord said to me,“ The prophets prophesy lies in My name. I have not sent them, commanded them, nor spoken to them; they prophesy to you a false vision, divination, a worthless thing, and the deceit of their heart.Therefore thus says the Lord concerning the prophets who prophesy in My name, whom I did not send, and who say,‘ sword and famine shall not be in this land’—‘ By sword and famine those prophets shall be consumed!And the people to whom they prophesy shall be cast out in the streets of Jerusalem because of the famine and the sword; they will have no one to bury them— them nor their wives, their sons nor their daughters— for I will pour their wickedness on them.’

“ It shall be in that day,” says the Lord of hosts,“ that I will cut off the names of the idols from the land, and they shall no longer be remembered. I will also cause the prophets and the unclean spirit to depart from the land.It shall come to pass that if anyone still prophesies, then his father and mother who begot him will say to him,‘ You shall not live, because you have spoken lies in the name of the Lord.’ And his father and mother who begot him shall thrust him through when he prophesies.“ And it shall be in that day that every prophet will be ashamed of his vision when he prophesies; they will not wear a robe of coarse hair to deceive.

Then he said,“ I saw all Israel scattered on the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd. And the Lord said,‘ These have no master. Let each return to his house in peace.’”

Your prophets have seen for you False and deceptive visions; They have not uncovered your iniquity, To bring back your captives, But have envisioned for you false prophecies and delusions.

And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed.By covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words; for a long time their judgment has not been idle, and their destruction does not slumber.

For neither at any time did we use flattering words, as you know, nor a cloak for covetousness— God is witness.

Also I have seen a horrible thing in the prophets of Jerusalem: They commit adultery and walk in lies; They also strengthen the hands of evildoers, So that no one turns back from his wickedness. All of them are like Sodom to Me, And her inhabitants like Gomorrah.“ Therefore thus says the Lord of hosts concerning the prophets:‘ Behold, I will feed them with wormwood, And make them drink the water of gall; For from the prophets of Jerusalem Profaneness has gone out into all the land.’”Thus says the Lord of hosts:“ Do not listen to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you. They make you worthless; They speak a vision of their own heart, Not from the mouth of the Lord.They continually say to those who despise Me,‘ The Lord has said,“ You shall have peace”’; And to everyone who walks according to the dictates of his own heart, they say,‘ No evil shall come upon you.’”For who has stood in the counsel of the Lord, And has perceived and heard His word? Who has marked His word and heard it?Behold, a whirlwind of the Lord has gone forth in fury— A violent whirlwind! It will fall violently on the head of the wicked.The anger of the Lord will not turn back Until He has executed and performed the thoughts of His heart. In the latter days you will understand it perfectly.“ I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran. I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied.But if they had stood in My counsel, And had caused My people to hear My words, Then they would have turned them from their evil way And from the evil of their doings.“ Am I a God near at hand,” says the Lord,“ And not a God afar off?Can anyone hide himself in secret places, So I shall not see him?” says the Lord;“ Do I not fill heaven and earth?” says the Lord.“ I have heard what the prophets have said who prophesy lies in My name, saying,‘ I have dreamed, I have dreamed!’How long will this be in the heart of the prophets who prophesy lies? Indeed they are prophets of the deceit of their own heart,who try to make My people forget My name by their dreams which everyone tells his neighbor, as their fathers forgot My name for Baal.“ The prophet who has a dream, let him tell a dream; And he who has My word, let him speak My word faithfully. What is the chaff to the wheat?” says the Lord.“ Is not My word like a fire?” says the Lord,“ And like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?

For those who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and by smooth words and flattering speech deceive the hearts of the simple.

Now Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah had made horns of iron for himself; and he said,“ Thus says the Lord:‘ With these you shall gore the Syrians until they are destroyed.’”And all the prophets prophesied so, saying,“ Go up to Ramoth Gilead and prosper, for the Lord will deliver it into the king’s hand.”Then the messenger who had gone to call Micaiah spoke to him, saying,“ Now listen, the words of the prophets with one accord encourage the king. Please, let your word be like the word of one of them, and speak encouragement.”

A lying tongue hates those who are crushed by it, And a flattering mouth works ruin.

They have envisioned futility and false divination, saying,‘ Thus says the Lord!’ But the Lord has not sent them; yet they hope that the word may be confirmed.
