For if the inheritance[ be] of the law,[ it is] no more of promise: but God gave[ it] to Abraham by promise.

For if the inheritance depends on the law, then it no longer depends on the promise; but God in his grace gave it to Abraham through a promise.

The great gift that God has for us does not depend on the law. If it did, it would no longer depend on the promise. But God gave it to Abraham as a free gift through a promise.

For if the inheritance comes by the law, it no longer comes by promise; but God gave it to Abraham by a promise.

For if the inheritance could be received by keeping the law, then it would not be the result of accepting God’s promise. But God graciously gave it to Abraham as a promise.

For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world,[ was] not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.For if they which are of the law[ be] heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of none effect:Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is,[ there is] no transgression.Therefore[ it is] of faith, that[ it might be] by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,

To perform the mercy[ promised] to our fathers, and to remember his holy covenant;The oath which he sware to our father Abraham,

Who[ is] a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth[ in] mercy.He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.Thou wilt perform the truth to Jacob,[ and] the mercy to Abraham, which thou hast sworn unto our fathers from the days of old.

And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with[ him], that we may be also glorified together.

I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness[ come] by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.

For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

O ye seed of Abraham his servant, ye children of Jacob his chosen.He[ is] the LORD our God: his judgments[ are] in all the earth.He hath remembered his covenant for ever, the word[ which] he commanded to a thousand generations.Which[ covenant] he made with Abraham, and his oath unto Isaac;And confirmed the same unto Jacob for a law,[ and] to Israel[ for] an everlasting covenant:Saying, Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance:When they were[ but] a few men in number; yea, very few, and strangers in it.

Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.

For he remembered his holy promise,[ and] Abraham his servant.

For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed[ is] every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.

And if ye[ be] Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.

He hath holpen his servant Israel, in remembrance of[ his] mercy;As he spake to our fathers, to Abraham, and to his seed for ever.
