Terah took his son Abram, his grandson Lot son of Haran, and his daughter-in-law Sarai, the wife of his son Abram, and together they set out from Ur of the Chaldeans to go to Canaan. But when they came to Harran, they settled there.

Terah left Ur in Babylon. He took with him his son Abram and his grandson Lot, the son of Haran. Terah also took his daughter- in- law Sarai, the wife of his son Abram. All of them left together to go to Canaan. But when they came to Harran, they made their home there.

Terah took Abram his son and Lot the son of Haran, his grandson, and Sarai his daughter-in-law, his son Abram’s wife, and they went forth together from Ur of the Chaldeans to go into the land of Canaan, but when they came to Haran, they settled there.

One day Terah took his son Abram, his daughter in law Sarai( his son Abram’s wife), and his grandson Lot( his son Haran’s child) and moved away from Ur of the Chaldeans. He was headed for the land of Canaan, but they stopped at Haran and settled there.

永恆主啊，惟獨你是上帝，那曾揀選了亞伯蘭、領他出迦勒底之吾珥、給他起名叫亞伯拉罕的。

司提反說：『同人，弟兄父老們，請聽。我們的先祖亞伯拉罕在米所波大米、還沒住在喀蘭的時候、榮耀之上帝向他顯現，對他說：「你要從你本地你親族中出來，到我所要指示你的地方去。」亞伯拉罕就從迦勒底人的地方出來，住在喀蘭。從那裏，他父親死了以後，上帝就把他搬到你們現今所住的這個地方來。

亞伯蘭就照永恆主所吩咐他的去了；羅得也和他一同去。亞伯蘭出喀蘭的時候，正七十五歲。

永恆主又對亞伯蘭說：『我是永恆主，曾領你出了迦勒底的吾珥，為的是要將這地賜給你，使你取得它為基業。』

那僕人從他主人的駱駝裏取了十匹駱駝，手裏帶主人的各樣美物；就起身往米所波大米去，到了拿鶴的城。

他拉在世的日子共有二百零五年；他拉死在喀蘭。永恆主對亞伯蘭說：『你要離開你本地、你親族、你父親的家，往我所要指示你的地去。

約書亞對眾民說：『永恆主以色列的上帝這麼說：古時你們的先祖、亞伯拉罕的父親、也就是拿鶴的父親、他拉，住在大河那邊；他們事奉別的神。我將你們的先祖亞伯拉罕從大河那邊帶來，領他走遍迦南全地；我使他的後裔眾多，把以撒賜給他；

迦南的境界是從西頓，經過基拉耳，直到迦薩；又經過所多瑪、蛾摩拉、押瑪、洗扁、直到拉沙。

現在我兒，你要聽我的話；起來，逃往喀蘭，我哥哥拉班那裏。

因着信、亞伯拉罕蒙了召，就聽從而出去，到他將要受為基業的地方去；他出去，不知道要往哪裏去！

雅各問牧人說：『弟兄們，你們是哪裏來的？』他們說：『我們是喀蘭來的。』他問他們說：『拿鶴的孫子拉班你們認識麼？』他們說：『我們認識。』

他拉活到七十歲，生了亞伯蘭，拿鶴、哈蘭。以下這些人是他拉的後代。他拉生亞伯蘭、拿鶴、哈蘭；哈蘭生羅得。哈蘭死在他親族之地、迦勒底的吾珥，比他的父親先死。

話還沒有說完，哎呀，利伯加就出來了；肩膀上扛着水瓶：利伯加是彼土利所生的；彼土利是亞伯拉罕的兄弟拿鶴的妻子密迦的兒子。
