Early the next morning Abraham took some food and a skin of water and gave them to Hagar. He set them on her shoulders and then sent her off with the boy. She went on her way and wandered in the Desert of Beersheba.

彼流離於曠野、在荒原之途、未見可居之邑兮、

乃名之曰示巴、故其邑名別是巴、至於今日、○

婢出者、依形軀而生、自由出者、乃由應許焉、斯為寓言、蓋二女乃二約、一出自西乃山、所生者為僕、夏甲是也、夫夏甲者乃亞拉伯之西乃山、猶今之耶路撒冷也、蓋彼與其諸子為僕、

亞伯拉罕夙興、備驢、攜二僕及子以撒、劈柴為燔、詣上帝所示之地、

蓋希實本之田畝疲弊、西比瑪之葡萄萎落、昔其嘉枝、延及雅謝、蔓於曠野、越乎鹽海、今為列國之主所毀、

因二人相誓於彼、故名其地曰別是巴、

亞伯拉罕植垂絲柳於別是巴、禱永生上帝耶和華之名、

亞伯拉罕夙興、至昔立於耶和華前之處、

夫奴不永居於家、而子永居焉、

守爾誡命、速而弗緩兮、

耶和華之使者見之於野、在書珥路之泉旁、

以利亞聞之、則起而遁、以保其命、至猶大之別是巴、留其僕於彼、
