The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you.

So the dragon was furious with the woman and went off to wage war against the rest of her offspring— those who keep the commands of God and hold firmly to the testimony about Jesus.

When the time came to completion, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law,

You are of your father the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he tells a lie, he speaks from his own nature, because he is a liar and the father of lies.

Therefore, the Lord himself will give you a sign: See, the virgin will conceive, have a son, and name him Immanuel.

Then war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon. The dragon and his angels also fought,but he could not prevail, and there was no place for them in heaven any longer.So the great dragon was thrown out— the ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the one who deceives the whole world. He was thrown to earth, and his angels with him.Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say, The salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ have now come, because the accuser of our brothers and sisters, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been thrown down.They conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; for they did not love their lives to the point of death.Therefore rejoice, you heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has come down to you with great fury, because he knows his time is short.When the dragon saw that he had been thrown down to the earth, he persecuted the woman who had given birth to the male child.

The devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet are, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

The LORD swore an oath to David, a promise he will not abandon:“ I will set one of your offspring on your throne.

Look, I have given you the authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy; nothing at all will harm you.

Then the LORD sent poisonous snakes among the people, and they bit them so that many Israelites died.The people then came to Moses and said,“ We have sinned by speaking against the LORD and against you. Intercede with the LORD so that he will take the snakes away from us.” And Moses interceded for the people.

Therefore I will give him the many as a portion, and he will receive the mighty as spoil, because he willingly submitted to death, and was counted among the rebels; yet he bore the sin of many and interceded for the rebels.

How long will you turn here and there, faithless daughter? For the LORD creates something new in the land— a female will shelter a man.

For it says: When he ascended on high, he took the captives captive; he gave gifts to people.

He disarmed the rulers and authorities and disgraced them publicly; he triumphed over them in him.

I will not talk with you much longer, because the ruler of the world is coming. He has no power over me.On the contrary, so that the world may know that I love the Father, I do as the Father commanded me.“ Get up; let’s leave this place.

Who is the one who conquers the world but the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

Therefore, Israel will be abandoned until the time when she who is in labor has given birth; then the rest of the ruler’s brothers will return to the people of Israel.

He went out and made his way as usual to the Mount of Olives, and the disciples followed him.When he reached the place, he told them,“ Pray that you may not fall into temptation.”Then he withdrew from them about a stone’s throw, knelt down, and began to pray,“ Father, if you are willing, take this cup away from me— nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.”Then an angel from heaven appeared to him, strengthening him.Being in anguish, he prayed more fervently, and his sweat became like drops of blood falling to the ground.

Every day while I was with you in the temple, you never laid a hand on me. But this is your hour— and the dominion of darkness.”

Don’t be afraid of what you are about to suffer. Look, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison to test you, and you will experience affliction for ten days. Be faithful to the point of death, and I will give you the crown of life.

Now is the judgment of this world. Now the ruler of this world will be cast out.As for me, if I am lifted up from the earth I will draw all people to myself.”He said this to indicate what kind of death he was about to die.

Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.After he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was hungry.Then the tempter approached him and said,“ If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.”He answered,“ It is written: Man must not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.”Then the devil took him to the holy city, had him stand on the pinnacle of the temple,and said to him,“ If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down. For it is written: He will give his angels orders concerning you, and they will support you with their hands so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.”Jesus told him,“ It is also written: Do not test the Lord your God.”Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor.And he said to him,“ I will give you all these things if you will fall down and worship me.”Then Jesus told him,“ Go away, Satan! For it is written: Worship the Lord your God, and serve only him.”

Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven holding the key to the abyss and a great chain in his hand.He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years.He threw him into the abyss, closed it, and put a seal on it so that he would no longer deceive the nations until the thousand years were completed. After that, he must be released for a short time.

Then I saw another great and awe-inspiring sign in heaven: seven angels with the seven last plagues; for with them God’s wrath will be completed.I also saw something like a sea of glass mixed with fire, and those who had won the victory over the beast, its image, and the number of its name, were standing on the sea of glass with harps from God.They sang the song of God’s servant Moses and the song of the Lamb: Great and awe-inspiring are your works, Lord God, the Almighty; just and true are your ways, King of the nations.Lord, who will not fear and glorify your name? For you alone are holy. All the nations will come and worship before you because your righteous acts have been revealed.After this I looked, and the heavenly temple— the tabernacle of testimony— was opened.Out of the temple came the seven angels with the seven plagues, dressed in pure, bright linen, with golden sashes wrapped around their chests.

Brood of vipers! How can you speak good things when you are evil? For the mouth speaks from the overflow of the heart.

“ Snakes! Brood of vipers! How can you escape being condemned to hell?

Dan will be a snake by the road, a viper beside the path, that bites the horse’s heels so that its rider falls backward.

When he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism, he said to them,“ Brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath?

Their throat is an open grave; they deceive with their tongues. Vipers’ venom is under their lips.

When the thousand years are completed, Satan will be released from his prisonand will go out to deceive the nations at the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them for battle. Their number is like the sand of the sea.

After those sixty-two weeks the Anointed One will be cut off and will have nothing. The people of the coming ruler will destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end will come with a flood, and until the end there will be war; desolations are decreed.

they will pick up snakes; if they should drink anything deadly, it will not harm them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will get well.”

As Paul gathered a bundle of brushwood and put it on the fire, a viper came out because of the heat and fastened itself on his hand.When the local people saw the snake hanging from his hand, they said to one another,“ This man, no doubt, is a murderer. Even though he has escaped the sea, Justice has not allowed him to live.”But he shook the snake off into the fire and suffered no harm.They expected that he would begin to swell up or suddenly drop dead. After they waited a long time and saw nothing unusual happen to him, they changed their minds and said he was a god.
