利亞謂為吉慶、故名之曰迦得、

利亞命名伽得、曰、幸甚。

利亞曰、福至矣、故名之曰迦得、迦得譯即福之義

“ A troop will press on Gad, but he will press on their heel.

The sons of Zilpah( Leah’s servant): Gad and Asher. These are the sons of Jacob, who were born to him in Paddan Aram.

The sons of Gad: Ziphion, Haggi, Shuni, Ezbon, Eri, Arodi, and Areli.

About Gad he said,“ He who enlarges Gad is blessed. He dwells as a lioness, and tears the arm and the crown of the head.He provided the first part for himself, for the lawgiver’s portion reserved was reserved for him.
