When Joseph saw Benjamin with them, he said to the steward of his house,“ Take these men to my house, slaughter an animal and prepare a meal; they are to eat with me at noon.”

When Joseph saw Benjamin with them, he spoke to the manager of his house.“ Take these men to my house,” he said.“ Kill an animal and prepare a meal. I want them to eat with me at noon.”

約瑟吩咐管家說：“把糧食裝滿這些人的布袋，要盡他們所能攜帶的，又把各人的銀子放在他們的袋口；

他們於是走近約瑟的管家，在屋門口與他說話。

以撒就為他們擺設筵席，他們就一起吃喝。

它宰殺牲口，調配美酒，擺設筵席。

雅各又在山上獻祭，叫了自己的眾兄弟來吃飯。他們吃了飯，就在山上過夜。

我怎能把我的餅、我的水，和我為剪羊毛的人宰殺的肉，給那些我不知道從哪裡來的人呢？”

約瑟就得主人的歡心，服事他的主人。他主人指派他管理他的家，把自己所有的一切都交在他手裡。自從主人指派約瑟管理他的家，和他所有的一切，耶和華就因約瑟的緣故，賜福給那埃及人的家。他家裡和田間所有的一切，都蒙耶和華賜福。

亞伯拉罕對他家中最老的，管理他所有產業的那僕人說：“請把你的手放在我的大腿底下。我要你指著耶和華天地的神起誓，不可從我現在居住的迦南人中，為我的兒子娶他們的女子為妻。你卻要到我的故鄉、我的親族那裡去，為我的兒子以撒娶妻。”僕人問亞伯拉罕：“如果那女子不願跟我到這地方來，我必須把你的兒子帶回你原出之地去嗎？”亞伯拉罕對他說：“你要謹慎，切不可帶我的兒子回到那裡去。耶和華天上的神，就是領我離開我的父家和我親族之地，曾經對我說話，又向我起誓的那位說：‘我必把這地賜給你的後裔。’他必在你前面差派他的使者，你就可以從那裡為我的兒子娶妻。如果那女子不願跟你來，我叫你所起的這誓就與你無關了。只是不可帶我的兒子回到那裡去。”於是，僕人把手放在他主人亞伯拉罕的大腿下，為這事向亞伯拉罕起誓。那僕人從他主人的駱駝裡取了十匹駱駝，帶著主人各樣的美物，起程往兩河之間的亞蘭去，到了拿鶴的城。

亞伯蘭說：“主耶和華啊，我一向都沒有孩子，你還能賜給我甚麼呢？這樣，承受我家業的，就是大馬士革人以利以謝了。”

他們出了城，走了不遠，約瑟就對管家說：“起來，追趕那些人；追上了，就對他們說：‘你為甚麼以惡報善呢？

孩子漸漸長大，就斷了奶。以撒斷奶的那天，亞伯拉罕擺設盛大的筵席。
