Then your servant my father said to us,‘ You know that my wife bore me two sons;

The sons of Rachel, Jacob’s wife, were Joseph and Benjamin.

Then they journeyed from Bethel. And when there was but a little distance to go to Ephrath, Rachel labored in childbirth, and she had hard labor.Now it came to pass, when she was in hard labor, that the midwife said to her,“ Do not fear; you will have this son also.”And so it was, as her soul was departing( for she died), that she called his name Ben-Oni; but his father called him Benjamin.

Then God remembered Rachel, and God listened to her and opened her womb.And she conceived and bore a son, and said,“ God has taken away my reproach.”So she called his name Joseph, and said,“ The Lord shall add to me another son.”And it came to pass, when Rachel had borne Joseph, that Jacob said to Laban,“ Send me away, that I may go to my own place and to my country.

Then Jacob did so and fulfilled her week. So he gave him his daughter Rachel as wife also.

Now Jacob loved Rachel; so he said,“ I will serve you seven years for Rachel your younger daughter.”And Laban said,“ It is better that I give her to you than that I should give her to another man. Stay with me.”So Jacob served seven years for Rachel, and they seemed only a few days to him because of the love he had for her.Then Jacob said to Laban,“ Give me my wife, for my days are fulfilled, that I may go in to her.”
