要讓這些人心靈麻木，耳朵發背，眼睛昏花，免得他們眼睛看見，耳朵聽見，心裡明白，回心轉意，就得到醫治。」

拉班清早起來，親吻外孫和女兒，給他們祝福，然後回家去了。

那時，以利已經九十八歲，眼睛因為年老而失明。

一天晚上，老眼昏花的以利正睡在自己的房裡。

以利沙就撇下牛，追上以利亞說：「請你讓我先回去與父母親吻道別，再跟你走吧。」以利亞說：「你回去吧，別忘了我剛才對你做的事。」

看啊，耶和華的臂膀並非沒有力量拯救，祂的耳朵並非聾得聽不見。
