Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.”

神说：“你的妻子撒拉，真的要为你生一个儿子，你要给他起名叫以撒，我要与他坚立我的约，作他后裔的永约。

在你家里生的，和你用银子买来的，都一定要受割礼。这样，我的约就刻在你们身上，作永远的约。

在怒气涨溢的时候，我暂时向你掩面，却要以永远的慈爱怜悯你；这是耶和华你的救赎主说的。这事对我就好像挪亚时代的洪水一般；我怎样起誓不再使挪亚时代的洪水漫过大地，我也照样起誓不向你发怒，也不斥责你。虽然大山可以挪开，小山可以迁移，但我的慈爱必不从你身上挪开，我和平的约也必不迁移；这是怜悯你的耶和华说的。

我的家在神面前不是这样吗？他与我立了永远的约；这约安排了一切，稳固妥当。我的一切救恩、一切愿望，他不都成全吗？

我要与你，和你世世代代的后裔，坚立我的约，成为永远的约，使我作你和你的后裔的神。

愿赐平安的神，就是那凭着永约的血，把群羊的大牧人我们的主耶稣，从死人中领出来的那一位，

我要和他们立永远的约，我必不离开他们，必使他们得到福乐；我也必把敬畏我的心赐给他们，使他们不会离开我。

“看哪，我现在与你们和你们的后裔立约，并且与所有跟你们在一起有生命的活物立约，包括飞鸟、牲畜和所有地上的走兽，就是与从方舟里出来的立约。我要与你们立约：凡有生命的必不再被洪水除灭，再没有洪水来毁灭大地了。”

耶和华闻了那馨香的气味，就心里说：“我必不再因人的缘故咒诅这地（因为人从小时开始心中所想的都是邪恶的）；我也必不再照着我作过的，击杀各样的活物。大地尚存之日，播种、收割，寒暑、冬夏、白昼和黑夜必然循环不息。”

你们要侧耳而听，要到我这里来；你们要听，就可以存活；我必与你们立永远的约，就是应许赐给大卫的那确实的慈爱。

你曾说：‘我和我所拣选的人立了约，向我的仆人大卫起了誓，说：我必永远坚立你的后裔，也必世世代代建立你的王位。’”（细拉）
