“ And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions.

And he said,“ Hear my words: If there is a prophet among you, I the Lord make myself known to him in a vision; I speak with him in a dream.Not so with my servant Moses. He is faithful in all my house.With him I speak mouth to mouth, clearly, and not in riddles, and he beholds the form of the Lord. Why then were you not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?”

Concerning this salvation, the prophets who prophesied about the grace that was to be yours searched and inquired carefully,inquiring what person or time the Spirit of Christ in them was indicating when he predicted the sufferings of Christ and the subsequent glories.It was revealed to them that they were serving not themselves but you, in the things that have now been announced to you through those who preached the good news to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven, things into which angels long to look.

And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he interpreted to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.

Being therefore a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that he would set one of his descendants on his throne,

as he spoke to our fathers, to Abraham and to his offspring forever.”

I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring; he shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel.”

We know that God has spoken to Moses, but as for this man, we do not know where he comes from.”

Then he said to them,“ These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, that everything written about me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.”

to show the mercy promised to our fathers and to remember his holy covenant,

For since the message declared by angels proved to be reliable, and every transgression or disobedience received a just retribution,

Now the Lord said to Abram,“ Go from your country and your kindred and your father’s house to the land that I will show you.And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing.I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”

And we bring you the good news that what God promised to the fathers,

When they had appointed a day for him, they came to him at his lodging in greater numbers. From morning till evening he expounded to them, testifying to the kingdom of God and trying to convince them about Jesus both from the Law of Moses and from the Prophets.

Moses gave you circumcision( not that it is from Moses, but from the fathers), and you circumcise a man on the Sabbath.

And God spoke to Israel in visions of the night and said,“ Jacob, Jacob.” And he said,“ Here I am.”Then he said,“ I am God, the God of your father. Do not be afraid to go down to Egypt, for there I will make you into a great nation.I myself will go down with you to Egypt, and I will also bring you up again, and Joseph’s hand shall close your eyes.”

And God blessed Noah and his sons and said to them,“ Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth.The fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth and upon every bird of the heavens, upon everything that creeps on the ground and all the fish of the sea. Into your hand they are delivered.Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. And as I gave you the green plants, I give you everything.But you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood.And for your lifeblood I will require a reckoning: from every beast I will require it and from man. From his fellow man I will require a reckoning for the life of man.“ Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed, for God made man in his own image.And you, be fruitful and multiply, increase greatly on the earth and multiply in it.”Then God said to Noah and to his sons with him,“ Behold, I establish my covenant with you and your offspring after you,and with every living creature that is with you, the birds, the livestock, and every beast of the earth with you, as many as came out of the ark; it is for every beast of the earth.I establish my covenant with you, that never again shall all flesh be cut off by the waters of the flood, and never again shall there be a flood to destroy the earth.”And God said,“ This is the sign of the covenant that I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for all future generations:I have set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and the earth.When I bring clouds over the earth and the bow is seen in the clouds,I will remember my covenant that is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh. And the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh.When the bow is in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth.”God said to Noah,“ This is the sign of the covenant that I have established between me and all flesh that is on the earth.”

Then God said to Noah,“ Go out from the ark, you and your wife, and your sons and your sons’ wives with you.Bring out with you every living thing that is with you of all flesh— birds and animals and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth— that they may swarm on the earth, and be fruitful and multiply on the earth.”So Noah went out, and his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives with him.Every beast, every creeping thing, and every bird, everything that moves on the earth, went out by families from the ark.

And the Lord appeared to him and said,“ Do not go down to Egypt; dwell in the land of which I shall tell you.Sojourn in this land, and I will be with you and will bless you, for to you and to your offspring I will give all these lands, and I will establish the oath that I swore to Abraham your father.I will multiply your offspring as the stars of heaven and will give to your offspring all these lands. And in your offspring all the nations of the earth shall be blessed,because Abraham obeyed my voice and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.”

And God said to Noah,“ I have determined to make an end of all flesh, for the earth is filled with violence through them. Behold, I will destroy them with the earth.Make yourself an ark of gopher wood. Make rooms in the ark, and cover it inside and out with pitch.This is how you are to make it: the length of the ark 300 cubits, its breadth 50 cubits, and its height 30 cubits.Make a roof for the ark, and finish it to a cubit above, and set the door of the ark in its side. Make it with lower, second, and third decks.For behold, I will bring a flood of waters upon the earth to destroy all flesh in which is the breath of life under heaven. Everything that is on the earth shall die.But I will establish my covenant with you, and you shall come into the ark, you, your sons, your wife, and your sons’ wives with you.And of every living thing of all flesh, you shall bring two of every sort into the ark to keep them alive with you. They shall be male and female.Of the birds according to their kinds, and of the animals according to their kinds, of every creeping thing of the ground, according to its kind, two of every sort shall come in to you to keep them alive.Also take with you every sort of food that is eaten, and store it up. It shall serve as food for you and for them.”Noah did this; he did all that God commanded him.

And he dreamed, and behold, there was a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven. And behold, the angels of God were ascending and descending on it!And behold, the Lord stood above it and said,“ I am the Lord, the God of Abraham your father and the God of Isaac. The land on which you lie I will give to you and to your offspring.Your offspring shall be like the dust of the earth, and you shall spread abroad to the west and to the east and to the north and to the south, and in you and your offspring shall all the families of the earth be blessed.Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land. For I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.”

Now Moses was keeping the flock of his father-in-law, Jethro, the priest of Midian, and he led his flock to the west side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.And the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush. He looked, and behold, the bush was burning, yet it was not consumed.And Moses said,“ I will turn aside to see this great sight, why the bush is not burned.”When the Lord saw that he turned aside to see, God called to him out of the bush,“ Moses, Moses!” And he said,“ Here I am.”Then he said,“ Do not come near; take your sandals off your feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy ground.”And he said,“ I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look at God.Then the Lord said,“ I have surely seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters. I know their sufferings,and I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land to a good and broad land, a land flowing with milk and honey, to the place of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites.And now, behold, the cry of the people of Israel has come to me, and I have also seen the oppression with which the Egyptians oppress them.Come, I will send you to Pharaoh that you may bring my people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt.”But Moses said to God,“ Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?”He said,“ But I will be with you, and this shall be the sign for you, that I have sent you: when you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall serve God on this mountain.”Then Moses said to God,“ If I come to the people of Israel and say to them,‘ The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me,‘ What is his name?’ what shall I say to them?”God said to Moses,“ I am who I am.” And he said,“ Say this to the people of Israel:‘ I am has sent me to you.’”God also said to Moses,“ Say this to the people of Israel:‘ The Lord, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you.’ This is my name forever, and thus I am to be remembered throughout all generations.Go and gather the elders of Israel together and say to them,‘ The Lord, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob, has appeared to me, saying,“ I have observed you and what has been done to you in Egypt,and I promise that I will bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt to the land of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites, a land flowing with milk and honey.”’And they will listen to your voice, and you and the elders of Israel shall go to the king of Egypt and say to him,‘ The Lord, the God of the Hebrews, has met with us; and now, please let us go a three days’ journey into the wilderness, that we may sacrifice to the Lord our God.’But I know that the king of Egypt will not let you go unless compelled by a mighty hand.So I will stretch out my hand and strike Egypt with all the wonders that I will do in it; after that he will let you go.And I will give this people favor in the sight of the Egyptians; and when you go, you shall not go empty,but each woman shall ask of her neighbor, and any woman who lives in her house, for silver and gold jewelry, and for clothing. You shall put them on your sons and on your daughters. So you shall plunder the Egyptians.”

And Jacob was left alone. And a man wrestled with him until the breaking of the day.When the man saw that he did not prevail against Jacob, he touched his hip socket, and Jacob’s hip was put out of joint as he wrestled with him.Then he said,“ Let me go, for the day has broken.” But Jacob said,“ I will not let you go unless you bless me.”And he said to him,“ What is your name?” And he said,“ Jacob.”Then he said,“ Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel, for you have striven with God and with men, and have prevailed.”Then Jacob asked him,“ Please tell me your name.” But he said,“ Why is it that you ask my name?” And there he blessed him.So Jacob called the name of the place Peniel, saying,“ For I have seen God face to face, and yet my life has been delivered.”

Then the Lord said,“ My Spirit shall not abide in man forever, for he is flesh: his days shall be 120 years.”
