既有見證如雲、萬目睽睽、監臨左右、吾人尚可不以堅忍之志、奮赴前程、徹除一切障礙、解脫罪孽之羈絆、而致景仰於耶穌乎？耶穌者、乃吾人信德之金聲玉振也。曩者彼為前途不可思議之神樂、而甘嘗垢辱、毅然肩負苦架。今則安坐天主寶位之右矣。爾等當細心體驗、耶穌當時如何忍受群小之拂逆、庶幾不致灰心而自餒。

如望身披駝毛、腰束革帶、以蝗蟲野蜜為食。

先知孰不為爾祖所凌辱乎？先知豫報聖者之來而爾祖殺之；今聖者已至、而爾曹又鬻而殺之矣！

『耶路撒冷乎！殘殺先知、石擊天主使臣之耶路撒冷乎！吾之欲集汝兒女、若牝禽之覆翼其雛者、不已頻乎！而汝終莫之許也！

猶太人復拾石、欲投之、耶穌詰之曰：『予所示爾種種善工、莫非淵源自父、果胡為而欲以石相擊耶？』猶太人應曰：『吾人擊汝、非為汝所行之善工、祇因僭妄耳。汝亦人也、乃竟自充天主！』

耶穌對曰：『狐有丘、鳥有巢、人子獨無枕首地。』

彼為基督之臣僕乎？則恕我放肆、吾更是也。吾視若輩勞苦多矣、繫獄多次、受笞無數、且常處死地、屢遭不測、五次被鞭於猶太人、每次四十減一、三次受杖、一次石擊、三遭覆舟、飄於海中者一晝一夜、僕僕風塵、不遑寧息、時遭河汊之危、盜賊之難、邦人之厄、異域之苦、城市之驚、曠野之困、海洋之險、及偽兄弟之陷害：備嘗艱辛、終夜不寐、載飢載渴、時復齋戒、忍苦耐勞、寒而無衣。

予誡語爾自亞伯之血、以至被害於殿壇間者撒迦利亞之血、悉將歸咎於斯代也。哀哉明律士！爾曹奪去知識之管籥、己不願進、亦不容人之進也。』耶穌方辭出、經生及法利塞人積怨既深、迫之彌甚、激使多言、欲伺其隙、以為語柄耳。

庶幾凡世上所流義血、自義者亞伯之血、以至殿臺間被殺者巴辣基子襍加理之血、皆歸於爾。吾誠告爾、凡此諸端、咸將歸責於斯代矣。耶路撒冷乎、嗟爾殘殺先知、石擊天主星使之耶路撒冷乎！吾之欲集爾子女、如牝雞之覆翼其雛者、不已頻乎？而爾終莫之許也。

有猶太人自安提阿、以哥念至、唆眾以石擊葆樂、意其已死、乃曳之郊外；

園戶執之、擊其一、殺其一、更以石斃其一。

吾為基督之故、凡肉體之柔弱、以及一切侮辱、艱難、窘迫、困苦、皆所甘受。蓋吾之弱、正吾之所以強也。

吾當遣派二證者、披麻而預言、凡一千二百又六十日。」
