By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed by going out to a place which he was to receive for an inheritance; and he left, not knowing where he was going.

亞伯拉罕有信、蒙主命、往將獲以為業之地、即遵命而出、臨出之時、尚不知所往、

亞伯漢亦憑信德、心從天主之命、不惜離鄉背井、以覓承許為嗣業之地。方其就道、固茫然不知己之奚適也。

By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going.

Abraham had faith. So he obeyed God. God called him to go to a place he would later receive as his own. So he went. He did it even though he didn’t know where he was going.

By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place that he was to receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going.

It was by faith that Abraham obeyed when God called him to leave home and go to another land that God would give him as his inheritance. He went without knowing where he was going.

Now the Lord said to Abram,“ Go from your country, And from your relatives And from your father’s house, To the land which I will show you;And I will make you into a great nation, And I will bless you, And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing;And I will bless those who bless you, And the one who curses you I will curse. And in you all the families of the earth will be blessed.”So Abram went away as the Lord had spoken to him; and Lot went with him. Now Abram was seventy five years old when he departed from Haran.

And Stephen said,“ Listen to me, brothers and fathers! The God of glory appeared to our father Abraham when he was in Mesopotamia, before he lived in Haran,and He said to him,‘ Go from your country and your relatives, and come to the land which I will show you.’Then he left the land of the Chaldeans and settled in Haran. And from there, after his father died, God had him move to this country in which you are now living.

Since you have purified your souls in obedience to the truth for a sincere love of the brothers and sisters, fervently love one another from the heart,

And the Lord appeared to Abram and said,“ To your descendants I will give this land.” So he built an altar there to the Lord who had appeared to him.

However, they did not all heed the good news; for Isaiah says,“ Lord, who has believed our report?”

“ Therefore, everyone who hears these words of Mine, and acts on them, will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.And the rain fell and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock.

The covenant which He made with Abraham, And His oath to Isaac.Then He confirmed it to Jacob as a statute, To Israel as an everlasting covenant,Saying,“ To you I will give the land of Canaan As the portion of your inheritance,”

And in your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice.”

What use is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone says he has faith, but he has no works? Can that faith save him?If a brother or sister is without clothing and in need of daily food,and one of you says to them,“ Go in peace, be warmed and be filled,” yet you do not give them what is necessary for their body, what use is that?

For it is time for judgment to begin with the household of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God?

for all the land which you see I will give to you and to your descendants forever.I will make your descendants as plentiful as the dust of the earth, so that if anyone can count the dust of the earth, then your descendants could also be counted.Arise, walk about in the land through its length and width; for I will give it to you.”

And He said to him,“ I am the Lord who brought you out of Ur of the Chaldeans, to give you this land to possess it.”But he said,“ Lord God, how may I know that I will possess it?”

who by faith conquered kingdoms, performed acts of righteousness, obtained promises, shut the mouths of lions,

It is not because of your righteousness or the uprightness of your heart that you are going in to take possession of their land, but it is because of the wickedness of these nations that the Lord your God is driving them out from before you, and in order to confirm the oath which the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

Look to Abraham your father And to Sarah who gave birth to you in pain; When he was only one I called him, Then I blessed him and multiplied him.”

Then I took your father Abraham from beyond the Euphrates River and led him through all the land of Canaan, and multiplied his descendants and gave him Isaac.

through whom we have received grace and apostleship to bring about the obedience of faith among all the Gentiles in behalf of His name,

Now Terah took his son Abram, and Lot the son of Haran, his grandson, and his daughter in law Sarai, his son Abram’s wife, and they departed together from Ur of the Chaldeans to go to the land of Canaan; and they went as far as Haran and settled there.

And I will give to you and to your descendants after you the land where you live as a stranger, all the land of Canaan, as an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.”

Who has stirred one from the east Whom He calls in righteousness to His feet? He turns nations over to him And subdues kings. He makes them like dust with his sword, Like the wind driven chaff with his bow.

But thanks be to God that though you were slaves of sin, you became obedient from the heart to that form of teaching to which you were entrusted,

And He took him outside and said,“ Now look toward the heavens and count the stars, if you are able to count them.” And He said to him,“ So shall your descendants be.”

Live for a time in this land and I will be with you and bless you, for to you and to your descendants I will give all these lands, and I will establish the oath which I swore to your father Abraham.

You are the Lord God, Who chose Abram And brought him out from Ur of the Chaldees, And gave him the name Abraham.You found his heart faithful before You, And made a covenant with him To give him the land of the Canaanite, Of the Hittite and the Amorite, Of the Perizzite, the Jebusite, and the Girgashite— To give it to his descendants. And You have fulfilled Your promise, Because You are righteous.

For I will take you from the nations, and gather you from all the lands; and I will bring you into your own land.

We are destroying arguments and all arrogance raised against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ,

In the same way, you wives, be subject to your own husbands so that even if any of them are disobedient to the word, they may be won over without a word by the behavior of their wives,

And having been perfected, He became the source of eternal salvation for all those who obey Him,
