Brothers and sisters, I urge you to bear with my word of exhortation, for in fact I have written to you quite briefly.

Brothers and sisters, I beg you to accept my word. It tells you to be faithful. Accept my word because I have written to you only a short letter.

I appeal to you, brothers, bear with my word of exhortation, for I have written to you briefly.

I urge you, dear brothers and sisters, to pay attention to what I have written in this brief exhortation.

But I urge you, brothers and sisters, listen patiently to this word of exhortation, for I have written to you briefly.

And I appeal to you, brethren, bear with the word of exhortation, for I have written to you in few words.

But I exhort you, brethren, bear with the word of exhortation: for I have written unto you in few words.

Brothers, I urge you to receive this message of exhortation, for I have written to you briefly.

And I beseech you, brethren, suffer the word of exhortation: for I have written a letter unto you in few words.

Now I urge you, brothers and sisters, bear with my message of exhortation, for in fact I have written to you briefly.

But I exhort you, brothers, endure the word of exhortation; for I have written to you in few words.

Through Silvanus, a faithful brother( as I consider him), I have written to you briefly in order to encourage you and to testify that this is the true grace of God. Stand firm in it!

Therefore, holy brothers and sisters, who share in a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, the apostle and high priest of our confession.

Let brotherly love continue.Don’t neglect to show hospitality, for by doing this some have welcomed angels as guests without knowing it.Remember those in prison, as though you were in prison with them, and the mistreated, as though you yourselves were suffering bodily.

Watch out, brothers and sisters, so that there won’t be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God.But encourage each other daily, while it is still called today, so that none of you is hardened by sin’s deception.

Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, since God is making his appeal through us. We plead on Christ’s behalf,“ Be reconciled to God.”

Therefore, strengthen your tired hands and weakened knees,and make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be dislocated but healed instead.Pursue peace with everyone, and holiness— without it no one will see the Lord.Make sure that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no root of bitterness springs up, causing trouble and defiling many.And make sure that there isn’t any immoral or irreverent person like Esau, who sold his birthright in exchange for a single meal.

Let us, then, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will fall into the same pattern of disobedience.

Now we desire each of you to demonstrate the same diligence for the full assurance of your hope until the end,so that you won’t become lazy but will be imitators of those who inherit the promises through faith and perseverance.

Working together with him, we also appeal to you,“ Don’t receive the grace of God in vain.”

Therefore, Jesus also suffered outside the gate, so that he might sanctify the people by his own blood.Let us, then, go to him outside the camp, bearing his disgrace.For we do not have an enduring city here; instead, we seek the one to come.Therefore, through him let us continually offer up to God a sacrifice of praise, that is, the fruit of lips that confess his name.Don’t neglect to do what is good and to share, for God is pleased with such sacrifices.

For this reason, although I have great boldness in Christ to command you to do what is right,I appeal to you, instead, on the basis of love. I, Paul, as an elderly man and now also as a prisoner of Christ Jesus,

Therefore, since we also have such a large cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us lay aside every hindrance and the sin that so easily ensnares us. Let us run with endurance the race that lies before us,keeping our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith. For the joy that lay before him, he endured the cross, despising the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Now I, Paul, myself, appeal to you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ— I who am humble among you in person but bold toward you when absent.

Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have boldness to enter the sanctuary through the blood of Jesus—he has inaugurated for us a new and living way through the curtain( that is, through his flesh)—and since we have a great high priest over the house of God,let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed in pure water.Let us hold on to the confession of our hope without wavering, since he who promised is faithful.And let us consider one another in order to provoke love and good works,not neglecting to gather together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging each other, and all the more as you see the day approaching.For if we deliberately go on sinning after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins,but a terrifying expectation of judgment and the fury of a fire about to consume the adversaries.Anyone who disregarded the law of Moses died without mercy, based on the testimony of two or three witnesses.How much worse punishment do you think one will deserve who has trampled on the Son of God, who has regarded as profane the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace?For we know the one who has said, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, and again, The Lord will judge his people.It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God.Remember the earlier days when, after you had been enlightened, you endured a hard struggle with sufferings.Sometimes you were publicly exposed to taunts and afflictions, and at other times you were companions of those who were treated that way.For you sympathized with the prisoners and accepted with joy the confiscation of your possessions, because you know that you yourselves have a better and enduring possession.So don’t throw away your confidence, which has a great reward.For you need endurance, so that after you have done God’s will, you may receive what was promised.For yet in a very little while, the Coming One will come and not delay.But my righteous one will live by faith; and if he draws back, I have no pleasure in him.But we are not those who draw back and are destroyed, but those who have faith and are saved.

Therefore, since the promise to enter his rest remains, let us beware that none of you be found to have fallen short.

See to it that you do not reject the one who speaks. For if they did not escape when they rejected him who warned them on earth, even less will we if we turn away from him who warns us from heaven.His voice shook the earth at that time, but now he has promised, Yet once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens.This expression,“ Yet once more,” indicates the removal of what can be shaken— that is, created things— so that what is not shaken might remain.Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful. By it, we may serve God acceptably, with reverence and awe,

For this reason, we must pay attention all the more to what we have heard, so that we will not drift away.
