切勿有所懈弛、當踵效昔賢、篤信不移、堅忍不拔、而終得承嗣恩諾也。

We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised.

We don’t want you to slow down. Instead, be like those who have faith and are patient. They will receive what God promised.

so that you may not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

Then you will not become spiritually dull and indifferent. Instead, you will follow the example of those who are going to inherit God’s promises because of their faith and endurance.

so that you won’t become lazy but will be imitators of those who inherit the promises through faith and perseverance.

He also who is lax in his work Is a brother to him who destroys.

This is what the Lord says:“ Stand by the ways and see and ask for the ancient paths, Where the good way is, and walk in it; Then you will find a resting place for your souls. But they said,‘ We will not walk in it.’

If anyone is destined for captivity, to captivity he goes; if anyone kills with the sword, with the sword he must be killed. Here is the perseverance and the faith of the saints.

Are they not all ministering spirits, sent out to provide service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation?

“ If you yourself do not know, Most beautiful among women, Go out on the trail of the flock, And pasture your young goats By the tents of the shepherds.

‘ I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? He is not the God of the dead, but of the living.”

Therefore, brothers and sisters, be all the more diligent to make certain about His calling and choice of you; for as long as you practice these things, you will never stumble;

As a result, we ourselves speak proudly of you among the churches of God for your perseverance and faith in the midst of all your persecutions and afflictions which you endure.

“ But his master answered and said to him,‘ You worthless, lazy slave! Did you know that I reap where I did not sow, and gather where I did not scatter seed?

But the seed in the good soil, these are the ones who have heard the word with a good and virtuous heart, and hold it firmly, and produce fruit with perseverance.

Here is the perseverance of the saints who keep the commandments of God and their faith in Jesus.And I heard a voice from heaven, saying,“ Write:‘ Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on!’ ”“ Yes,” says the Spirit,“ so that they may rest from their labors, for their deeds follow with them.”

The way of the lazy one is like a hedge of thorns, But the path of the upright is a highway.

who by faith conquered kingdoms, performed acts of righteousness, obtained promises, shut the mouths of lions,

not lagging behind in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord;

By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed by going out to a place which he was to receive for an inheritance; and he left, not knowing where he was going.By faith he lived as a stranger in the land of promise, as in a foreign land, living in tents with Isaac and Jacob, fellow heirs of the same promise;for he was looking for the city which has foundations, whose architect and builder is God.By faith even Sarah herself received ability to conceive, even beyond the proper time of life, since she considered Him faithful who had promised.Therefore even from one man, and one who was as good as dead at that, there were born descendants who were just as the stars of heaven in number, and as the innumerable grains of sand along the seashore.All these died in faith, without receiving the promises, but having seen and welcomed them from a distance, and having confessed that they were strangers and exiles on the earth.For those who say such things make it clear that they are seeking a country of their own.And indeed if they had been thinking of that country which they left, they would have had opportunity to return.But as it is, they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God; for He has prepared a city for them.By faith Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac, and the one who had received the promises was offering up his only son;

knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.

The hand of the diligent will rule, But the lazy hand will be put to forced labor.

Now it happened that the poor man died and was carried away by the angels to Abraham’s arms; and the rich man also died and was buried.

And so, having patiently waited, he obtained the promise.

constantly keeping in mind your work of faith and labor of love and perseverance of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ in the presence of our God and Father,

For in this way the holy women of former times, who hoped in God, also used to adorn themselves, being subject to their own husbands,just as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord; and you have proved to be her children if you do what is right without being frightened by any fear.

and the father of circumcision to those who not only are of the circumcision, but who also follow in the steps of the faith of our father Abraham which he had while uncircumcised.

Therefore, since we also have such a great cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let’s rid ourselves of every obstacle and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let’s run with endurance the race that is set before us,

to those who by perseverance in doing good seek glory, honor, and immortality, He will give eternal life;

But as for the fact that the dead are raised, even Moses revealed this in the passage about the burning bush, where he calls the Lord the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.Now He is not the God of the dead, but of the living; for all live to Him.”

But if we hope for what we do not see, through perseverance we wait eagerly for it.Now in the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know what to pray for as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words;

As an example, brothers and sisters, of suffering and patience, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord.We count those blessed who endured. You have heard of the endurance of Job and have seen the outcome of the Lord’s dealings, that the Lord is full of compassion and is merciful.

The soul of the lazy one craves and gets nothing, But the soul of the diligent is made prosperous.
