試思先祖亞伯拉罕、以所獲之極品什一贈之、其人之尊為何如耶、

爾試思之、先祖亞伯拉罕、取戰時所獲者十分之一、輸麥基洗德、則其尊為何若、

爾試思之、祖亞伯拉罕、以所獲者什取一以供之、則其人之尊貴何如、

爾等盍一思之、我先祖亞伯漢、且以其戰利珍品什一以貢焉、則麥基德之尊貴為何如乎？

Just think how great he was: Even the patriarch Abraham gave him a tenth of the plunder!

Think how great Melchizedek was! Even our father Abraham gave him a tenth of what he had captured.

See how great this man was to whom Abraham the patriarch gave a tenth of the spoils!

Consider then how great this Melchizedek was. Even Abraham, the great patriarch of Israel, recognized this by giving him a tenth of what he had taken in battle.

“弟兄们，关于祖先大卫的事，我不妨坦白告诉你们，他死了，葬了，直到今日他的坟墓还在我们这里。

把敌人交在你手里的至高的神，是应当称颂的！”亚伯兰就把所得的一切，拿出十分之一来，给了麦基洗德。

神也赐他割礼为约。这样，亚伯拉罕生了以撒，第八天就给他行了割礼。后来，以撒生雅各，雅各生了十二位祖先。“祖先妒忌约瑟，把他卖到埃及去，然而神与他同在，

并不分犹太人或希腊人，作奴仆的或自由人，男的或女的，因为你们在基督耶稣里都成为一体了。如果你们属于基督，就是亚伯拉罕的后裔，是按照应许承受产业的了。

我必使你成为大国，赐福给你，使你的名为大，你也必使别人得福，

如经上所记：“我已经立了你作万国的父。”他所信的，是叫死人得生命、使无变为有的神。在他没有盼望的时候，仍然怀着盼望去信，因此就成了万国的父，正如神所说：“你的后裔将要这样众多。”

这正应验了经上所说的：“亚伯拉罕信神，这就算为他的义。”他也被称为神的朋友。

他领受了割礼为记号，作他受割礼之前因信称义的印证，使他作所有没有受割礼而信之人的父，使他们也被算为义；又作受割礼之人的父，就是作那些不仅受割礼，并且照着我们祖宗亚伯拉罕未受割礼时就信的那脚踪而行之人的父。原来神给亚伯拉罕和他后裔承受世界的应许，并不是因着律法，而是藉着因信而来的义。

你的名不要再叫亚伯兰，要叫亚伯拉罕，因为我已经立了你作万国的父。我要使你极其昌盛，国度因你而立，君王必从你而出。
