地上居民歟、驚駭坎阱機檻、悉臨於爾、

居斯土者、惟有驚駭、坎阱機檻而已、

斯地之居民乎、驚駭、陷阱、網羅、必臨於爾、

Terror and pit and snare await you, people of the earth.

Listen, you people of the earth. Terror, a pit and a trap are waiting for you.

Terror and the pit and the snare are upon you, O inhabitant of the earth!

Terror and traps and snares will be your lot, you people of the earth.

Panic, pit, and trap await you who dwell on the earth.

Terror and pit and snare Confront you, you inhabitant of the earth.

Terror, pits, and traps are in store for the people who live in Moab. I, the LORD, affirm it!Anyone who flees at the sound of terror will fall into a pit. Anyone who climbs out of the pit will be caught in a trap. For the time is coming when I will punish the people of Moab. I, the LORD, affirm it!

Jehu will kill anyone who escapes Hazael’s sword, and Elisha will kill anyone who escapes Jehu’s sword.

“ For this is what the sovereign LORD says: How much worse will it be when I send my four terrible judgments– sword, famine, wild animals, and plague– to Jerusalem to kill both people and animals!

However, I will leave some of these wicked people alive and banish them to other places. But wherever these people who survive may go, they will wish they had died rather than lived,” says the LORD who rules over all.

“‘ If you walk in hostility against me and are not willing to obey me, I will increase your affliction seven times according to your sins.I will send the wild animals against you and they will bereave you of your children, annihilate your cattle, and diminish your population so that your roads will become deserted.

Disaster will be inescapable, as if a man ran from a lion only to meet a bear, then escaped into a house, leaned his hand against the wall, and was bitten by a poisonous snake.
