everyone who is called by my name, and whom I have created for my glory, whom I have formed, yes, whom I have made.’”

Therefore the Lord will not rejoice over their young men, neither will he have compassion on their fatherless and widows; for everyone is profane and an evildoer, and every mouth speaks folly. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.

How much less, when the fire has devoured it, and it has been burned, will it yet be suitable for any work?”Therefore the Lord Yahweh says:“ As the vine tree among the trees of the forest, which I have given to the fire for fuel, so I will give the inhabitants of Jerusalem.I will set my face against them. They will go out from the fire, but the fire will devour them. Then you will know that I am Yahweh, when I set my face against them.I will make the land desolate, because they have committed a trespass,” says the Lord Yahweh.

For they are a nation void of counsel. There is no understanding in them.Oh that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end!

As for me also, my eye won’t spare, neither will I have pity, but I will bring their way on their head.”

Yahweh was sorry that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him in his heart.Yahweh said,“ I will destroy man whom I have created from the surface of the ground— man, along with animals, creeping things, and birds of the sky— for I am sorry that I have made them.”

Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the peoples who shall hear all these statutes and say,“ Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.”

I will send the teeth of animals on them, with the venom of vipers that glide in the dust.Outside the sword will bereave, and in the rooms, terror on both young man and virgin, the nursing infant with the gray- haired man.

‘ Hear this now, foolish people without understanding, who have eyes, and don’t see, who have ears, and don’t hear:Don’t you fear me?’ says Yahweh‘ Won’t you tremble at my presence, who have placed the sand for the bound of the sea, by a perpetual decree, that it can’t pass it? Though its waves toss themselves, yet they can’t prevail. Though they roar, they still can’t pass over it.’

They don’t know, neither do they consider: for he has shut their eyes, that they can’t see; and their hearts, that they can’t understand.No one thinks, neither is there knowledge nor understanding to say,“ I have burned part of it in the fire. Then I said,“ Surely these are poor. They are foolish; for they don’t know the Yahweh’s way, nor the law of their God.I will go to the great men and will speak to them, for they know the way of Yahweh, and the law of their God.” But these with one accord have broken the yoke, and burst the bonds.

the stock which your right hand planted, the branch that you made strong for yourself.It’s burned with fire. It’s cut down. They perish at your rebuke.

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you, that you may be no priest to me. Because you have forgotten your God’s law, I will also forget your children.
