惟行義而言正、鄙視悖入之利、揮手不受賄賂、塞耳不聽流血之謀、閉目不睹邪惡之事、

惟彼善人、言信而行義、不取非義之利、不受賄賂、耳不聞殺伐之聲、目不睹怪僻之事、

行公義、言正直、厭棄訛詐之財、搖手不受賄賂、塞耳不欲聞害人之謀、閉目不忍見兇暴之事、

Those who walk righteously and speak what is right, who reject gain from extortion and keep their hands from accepting bribes, who stop their ears against plots of murder and shut their eyes against contemplating evil—

People must do what is right. They must be honest and tell the truth. They must not get rich by cheating others. Their hands must not receive money from those who want special favors. They must not let their ears listen to plans to commit murder. They must close their eyes to even thinking about doing what is evil.

He who walks righteously and speaks uprightly, who despises the gain of oppressions, who shakes his hands, lest they hold a bribe, who stops his ears from hearing of bloodshed and shuts his eyes from looking on evil,

Those who are honest and fair, who refuse to profit by fraud, who stay far away from bribes, who refuse to listen to those who plot murder, who shut their eyes to all enticement to do wrong—

The one who lives righteously and speaks rightly, who refuses profit from extortion, whose hand never takes a bribe, who stops his ears from listening to murderous plots and shuts his eyes against evil schemes—

One who walks righteously and speaks with integrity, One who rejects unjust gain And shakes his hands so that they hold no bribe; One who stops his ears from hearing about bloodshed And shuts his eyes from looking at evil;

He who walks righteously and speaks uprightly, He who despises the gain of oppressions, Who gestures with his hands, refusing bribes, Who stops his ears from hearing of bloodshed, And shuts his eyes from seeing evil:

He that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly; he that despiseth the gain of oppressions, that shaketh his hands from taking a bribe, that stoppeth his ears from hearing of blood, and shutteth his eyes from looking upon evil:

The one who lives righteously and speaks rightly, who refuses gain from extortion, whose hand never takes a bribe, who stops his ears from listening to murderous plots and shuts his eyes to avoid endorsing evil—

He that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly; he that despiseth the gain of oppressions, that shaketh his hands from holding of bribes, that stoppeth his ears from hearing of blood, and shutteth his eyes from seeing evil;

The one who lives uprightly and speaks honestly; the one who refuses to profit from oppressive measures and rejects a bribe; the one who does not plot violent crimes and does not seek to harm others–

Turn my eyes away from looking at worthless things. Revive me in your ways.

Little children, let no one lead you astray. He who does righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.

Blessed is the man who doesn’t walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand on the path of sinners, nor sit in the seat of scoffers;but his delight is in Yahweh’s law. On his law he meditates day and night.He will be like a tree planted by the streams of water, that produces its fruit in its season, whose leaf also does not wither. Whatever he does shall prosper.

having eyes full of adultery, and who can’t cease from sin; enticing unsettled souls; having a heart trained in greed; children of cursing;forsaking the right way, they went astray, having followed the way of Balaam the son of Beor, who loved the wages of wrongdoing;but he was rebuked for his own disobedience. A mute donkey spoke with a man’s voice and stopped the madness of the prophet.

Yahweh, who shall dwell in your sanctuary? Who shall live on your holy hill?He who walks blamelessly and does what is right, and speaks truth in his heart;

Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord,“ Behold, Lord, half of my goods I give to the poor. If I have wrongfully exacted anything of anyone, I restore four times as much.”

Behold, the wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you have kept back by fraud, cry out, and the cries of those who reaped have entered into the ears of the Lord of Armies.

Now when Simon saw that the Holy Spirit was given through the laying on of the apostles’ hands, he offered them money,saying,“ Give me also this power, that whomever I lay my hands on may receive the Holy Spirit.”But Peter said to him,“ May your silver perish with you, because you thought you could obtain the gift of God with money!You have neither part nor lot in this matter, for your heart isn’t right before God.Repent therefore of this, your wickedness, and ask God if perhaps the thought of your heart may be forgiven you.For I see that you are in the poison of bitterness and in the bondage of iniquity.”

You shall not pervert justice. You shall not show partiality. You shall not take a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and perverts the words of the righteous.

The law of truth was in his mouth, and unrighteousness was not found in his lips. He walked with me in peace and uprightness, and turned many away from iniquity.

They were both righteous before God, walking blamelessly in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord.

Have no fellowship with the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but rather even reprove them.For it is a shame even to speak of the things which are done by them in secret.But all things, when they are reproved, are revealed by the light, for everything that reveals is light.

For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men,instructing us to the intent that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we would live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present age;

to those who by perseverance in well- doing seek for glory, honor, and incorruptibility, eternal life;

Here I am. Witness against me before Yahweh, and before his anointed. Whose ox have I taken? Whose donkey have I taken? Whom have I defrauded? Whom have I oppressed? Of whose hand have I taken a bribe to make me blind my eyes? I will restore it to you.”

Moses was very angry, and said to Yahweh,“ Don’t respect their offering. I have not taken one donkey from them, neither have I hurt one of them.”

and said,“ What are you willing to give me, that I should deliver him to you?” They weighed out for him thirty pieces of silver.

Then Abishai said to David,“ God has delivered up your enemy into your hand today. Now therefore please let me strike him with the spear to the earth at one stroke, and I will not strike him the second time.”David said to Abishai,“ Don’t destroy him; for who can stretch out his hand against Yahweh’s anointed, and be guiltless?”David said,“ As Yahweh lives, Yahweh will strike him; or his day shall come to die; or he shall go down into battle and perish.Yahweh forbid that I should stretch out my hand against Yahweh’s anointed; but now please take the spear that is at his head, and the jar of water, and let’s go.”

“ You shall not deny justice to your poor people in their lawsuits.“ Keep far from a false charge, and don’t kill the innocent and righteous; for I will not justify the wicked.“ You shall take no bribe, for a bribe blinds those who have sight and perverts the words of the righteous.“ You shall not oppress an alien, for you know the heart of an alien, since you were aliens in the land of Egypt.

Then your light will break out as the morning, and your healing will appear quickly; then your righteousness shall go before you, and Yahweh’s glory will be your rear guard.

Don’t gather my soul with sinners, nor my life with bloodthirsty men;in whose hands is wickedness, their right hand is full of bribes.But as for me, I will walk in my integrity. Redeem me, and be merciful to me.

Yahweh says,“ Maintain justice and do what is right, for my salvation is near and my righteousness will soon be revealed.Blessed is the man who does this, and the son of man who holds it fast; who keeps the Sabbath without profaning it and keeps his hand from doing any evil.”

who hasn’t eaten on the mountains, hasn’t lifted up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, hasn’t defiled his neighbor’s wife,hasn’t wronged any, hasn’t taken anything to pledge, hasn’t taken by robbery, but has given his bread to the hungry, and has covered the naked with a garment;who has withdrawn his hand from the poor, who hasn’t received interest or increase, has executed my ordinances, has walked in my statutes; he shall not die for the iniquity of his father. He shall surely live.

“ If I have despised the cause of my male servant or of my female servant, when they contended with me,what then will I do when God rises up? When he visits, what will I answer him?Didn’t he who made me in the womb make him? Didn’t one fashion us in the womb?“ If I have withheld the poor from their desire, or have caused the eyes of the widow to fail,or have eaten my morsel alone, and the fatherless has not eaten of it( no, from my youth he grew up with me as with a father, I have guided her from my mother’s womb);if I have seen any perish for want of clothing, or that the needy had no covering;if his heart hasn’t blessed me, if he hasn’t been warmed with my sheep’s fleece;if I have lifted up my hand against the fatherless, because I saw my help in the gate,then let my shoulder fall from the shoulder blade, and my arm be broken from the bone.For calamity from God is a terror to me. Because of his majesty, I can do nothing.“ If I have made gold my hope, and have said to the fine gold,‘ You are my confidence;’If I have rejoiced because my wealth was great, and because my hand had gotten much;

Blessed are those who keep justice. Blessed is one who does what is right at all times.

Their hands are on that which is evil to do it diligently. The ruler and judge ask for a bribe; and the powerful man dictates the evil desire of his soul. Thus they conspire together.The best of them is like a brier. The most upright is worse than a thorn hedge. The day of your watchmen, even your visitation, has come; now is the time of their confusion.

Tax collectors also came to be baptized, and they said to him,“ Teacher, what must we do?”He said to them,“ Collect no more than that which is appointed to you.”Soldiers also asked him, saying,“ What about us? What must we do?” He said to them,“ Extort from no one by violence, neither accuse anyone wrongfully. Be content with your wages.”

Judge me, Yahweh, for I have walked in my integrity. I have trusted also in Yahweh without wavering.Examine me, Yahweh, and prove me. Try my heart and my mind.

He who has clean hands and a pure heart; who has not lifted up his soul to falsehood, and has not sworn deceitfully.He shall receive a blessing from Yahweh, righteousness from the God of his salvation.

Then I consulted with myself, and contended with the nobles and the rulers, and said to them,“ You exact usury, everyone of his brother.” I held a great assembly against them.I said to them,“ We, after our ability, have redeemed our brothers the Jews that were sold to the nations; and would you even sell your brothers, and should they be sold to us?” Then they held their peace, and found not a word to say.Also I said,“ The thing that you do is not good. Shouldn’t you walk in the fear of our God, because of the reproach of the nations our enemies?I likewise, my brothers and my servants, lend them money and grain. Please let us stop this usury.Please restore to them, even today, their fields, their vineyards, their olive groves, and their houses, also the hundredth part of the money, and of the grain, the new wine, and the oil, that you are charging them.”Then they said,“ We will restore them, and will require nothing of them. We will do so, even as you say.” Then I called the priests, and took an oath of them, that they would do according to this promise.Also I shook out my lap, and said,“ So may God shake out every man from his house, and from his labor, that doesn’t perform this promise; even may he be shaken out and emptied like this.” All the assembly said,“ Amen,” and praised Yahweh. The people did according to this promise.

David’s men said to him,“ Behold, the day of which Yahweh said to you,‘ Behold, I will deliver your enemy into your hand, and you shall do to him as it shall seem good to you.’” Then David arose, and cut off the skirt of Saul’s robe secretly.Afterward, David’s heart struck him, because he had cut off Saul’s skirt.He said to his men,“ Yahweh forbid that I should do this thing to my lord, Yahweh’s anointed, to stretch out my hand against him, since he is Yahweh’s anointed.”So David checked his men with these words, and didn’t allow them to rise against Saul. Saul rose up out of the cave, and went on his way.

I have not sat with deceitful men, neither will I go in with hypocrites.I hate the assembly of evildoers, and will not sit with the wicked.I will wash my hands in innocence, so I will go about your altar, Yahweh,

“ If I have rejoiced at the destruction of him who hated me, or lifted up myself when evil found him( yes, I have not allowed my mouth to sin by asking his life with a curse);if the men of my tent have not said,‘ Who can find one who has not been filled with his meat?’

Then Johanan the son of Kareah spoke to Gedaliah in Mizpah secretly, saying,“ Please let me go, and I will kill Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and no man will know it. Why should he take your life, that all the Jews who are gathered to you should be scattered, and the remnant of Judah perish?”But Gedaliah the son of Ahikam said to Johanan the son of Kareah,“ You shall not do this thing; for you speak falsely of Ishmael.”

For among my people are found wicked men. They watch, as fowlers lie in wait. They set a trap. They catch men.As a cage is full of birds, so are their houses full of deceit. Therefore they have become great, and grew rich.They have grown fat. They shine; yes, they excel in deeds of wickedness. They don’t plead the cause, the cause of the fatherless, that they may prosper; and they don’t defend the rights of the needy.
