就是我們所聽過、所知道的，也是我們的祖先向我們講述過的——我們不會向子孫隱瞞，而要向後代講述對耶和華的讚美，講述他的大能和他所行的奇妙作為。他在雅各中立下法度，在以色列中設立律法，這律法是他吩咐我們的祖先教導子孫的，好讓將要出生的後代子孫可以明白，並且起來向他們的子孫講述；

我必不至於死，卻要存活，並要述說耶和華的作為。

凡是你手當做的，你都當極力去做；因為在你必去的陰間沒有工作，沒有籌劃，沒有知識，也沒有智慧。

我一生都要讚美耶和華；我還活著的時候，要歌頌我的神。

趁著白晝，我們必須做那派我來者的工作；黑夜就要到了！那時候就沒有人能做工了。
