「你們這些悖逆的人啊，要將這些事銘記在心。

我親手奠立大地的根基，我的右手鋪展穹蒼。我一呼喚，它們都侍立一旁。

卻從未停止用美善的事證實自己的存在。祂常施恩惠，降下甘霖，賞賜豐年，又叫你們衣食飽足，滿心喜樂。」

有關上帝的事情，可以讓人類知道的都已經顯而易見，因為上帝已經向人類顯明了。自從創造天地以來，上帝永恆的大能和神性是明明可知的，雖然肉眼看不見，但透過受造之物就可以領悟，因而人類毫無藉口推說不知。他們雖然明知有上帝，卻不把祂當作上帝，既不將榮耀歸給祂，也不感謝祂。他們的思想因此變得荒謬無用，無知的心也變得昏暗不明。

那些製造它們、信靠它們的人也會和它們一樣。

既然他們故意不認識上帝，上帝就任憑他們心思敗壞，做不當做的事。

難道你忘記了創造你、鋪展穹蒼、奠立大地根基的耶和華嗎？難道因為試圖毀滅你的欺壓者大發怒氣，你就整天驚恐不安嗎？他們的怒氣如今在哪裡呢？

樹枝枯乾斷落，婦女拿去作柴燒。因為以色列人愚昧無知，所以他們的創造主不憐憫他們，也不向他們施恩。

他們以灰為食，心智迷糊，走入歧途，不能自救，也不會說：「我右手拿的神像不是假的嗎？」

那麼，猶太人有什麼長處呢？割禮有什麼價值呢？其實益處非常多！首先，上帝的聖言託付給了猶太人。

諸天述說上帝的榮耀，穹蒼傳揚祂的作為。它們日復一日地訴說，夜復一夜地宣揚，無言無語，無聲無息。它們的聲音傳遍天下，它們的話語傳到地極。上帝在天上為太陽設立居所。太陽出來時，如步出洞房的新郎，又如歡然奔跑賽程的健兒。

他們都愚昧無知，毫無用處的木製偶像能教導他們什麼呢？偶像上的銀片來自他施，金片來自烏法，都是匠人的製品，這些偶像穿的藍色和紫色衣服是巧匠製作的。唯有耶和華是真神，是永活的上帝，是永恆的君王。祂一發怒，大地便震動，萬國都無法承受。你們要這樣對他們說：「那些神明沒有創造天地，它們將從天下消亡。」耶和華施展大能，用智慧創造大地和世界，巧妙地鋪展穹蒼。
