受膏王古列、為我耶和華所立、我扶其右手、使列國降服其前、使諸王柔弱無力、使諸邑門啟於其前、不得閉之、我對之如是曰、

This is what the Lord says to Cyrus, his anointed one, whose right hand he will empower. Before him, mighty kings will be paralyzed with fear. Their fortress gates will be opened, never to shut again.

“ Thus says the Lord to His anointed, To Cyrus, whose right hand I have held— To subdue nations before him And loose the armor of kings, To open before him the double doors, So that the gates will not be shut:

波斯王塞鲁士元年，耶和华为要应验祂借耶利米所说的话，就感动波斯王塞鲁士，使他下诏通告全国：

河闸大开，王宫坍塌。

耶和华说：“敌人要攻击巴比伦的居民及其首领和谋士；

我举目观看，见一只长着长角的公绵羊站在河边，其中一角比另一角长，较长的角是后长出来的。

乌法珥新——指你的国要分裂，归给玛代人和波斯人。”于是，伯沙撒下令给但以理穿上紫袍，戴上金项链，又宣告他在国中位居第三。当夜，迦勒底王伯沙撒被杀。

脸色骤变，惊恐万分，两腿发软，双膝颤抖。

“人子啊，我打断了埃及王法老的臂膀，没有人替他敷药包扎，以致他无力拿刀。主耶和华说，‘我要与埃及王法老为敌，我要把他那强壮的臂膀和曾经受伤的臂膀一起打断，使刀从他手中掉落。我要把埃及人驱散到列国，分散到列邦。我要使巴比伦王的臂膀强壮有力，把我的刀交在他手中。我要打断法老的臂膀，使法老在他面前像受了致命伤的人一样呻吟。
