Awake, awake, arm of the Lord, clothe yourself with strength! Awake, as in days gone by, as in generations of old. Was it not you who cut Rahab to pieces, who pierced that monster through?

Wake up, arm of the Lord! Wake up! Dress yourself with strength as if it were your clothes! Wake up, just as you did in the past. Wake up, as you did long ago. Didn’t you cut Rahab to pieces? Didn’t you stab that sea monster to death?

Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the Lord; awake, as in days of old, the generations of long ago. Was it not you who cut Rahab in pieces, who pierced the dragon?

Wake up, wake up, O Lord! Clothe yourself with strength! Flex your mighty right arm! Rouse yourself as in the days of old when you slew Egypt, the dragon of the Nile.

Wake up, wake up! Arm of the LORD, clothe yourself with strength. Wake up as in days past, as in generations long ago. Wasn’t it you who hacked Rahab to pieces, who pierced the sea monster?

Wake up, wake up! Put on the strength of the Lord’s power. Wake up as in days past, as in generations of long ago. Wasn’t it You who hacked Rahab to pieces, who pierced the sea monster?

Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the LORD; awake, as in the ancient days, in the generations of old.[ Art] thou not it that hath cut Rahab,[ and] wounded the dragon?

Wake up! Wake up! Clothe yourself with strength, O arm of the LORD! Wake up as in former times, as in antiquity! Did you not smash the Proud One? Did you not wound the sea monster?

You divided the sea by your strength. You broke the heads of the sea monsters in the waters.You broke the heads of Leviathan in pieces. You gave him as food to people and desert creatures.

Awake, awake! Put on your strength, Zion. Put on your beautiful garments, Jerusalem, the holy city: for from now on the uncircumcised and the unclean will no more come into you.

In that day, Yahweh with his hard and great and strong sword will punish leviathan, the fleeing serpent, and leviathan the twisted serpent; and he will kill the dragon that is in the sea.

Awake, awake! Stand up, Jerusalem, you who have drunk from Yahweh’s hand the cup of his wrath. You have drunken the bowl of the cup of staggering, and drained it.

For Egypt helps in vain, and to no purpose; therefore I have called her Rahab who sits still.

You have broken Rahab in pieces, like one of the slain. You have scattered your enemies with your mighty arm.

Arise, Yahweh, in your anger. Lift up yourself against the rage of my adversaries. Awake for me. You have commanded judgment.

Yahweh has sworn by his right hand, and by the arm of his strength,“ Surely I will no more give your grain to be food for your enemies, and foreigners will not drink your new wine, for which you have labored,

Speak and say,‘ The Lord Yahweh says:“ Behold, I am against you, Pharaoh king of Egypt, the great monster that lies in the middle of his rivers, that has said,‘ My river is my own, and I have made it for myself.’

We have heard with our ears, God; our fathers have told us what work you did in their days, in the days of old.

He stirs up the sea with his power, and by his understanding he strikes through Rahab.

Woe to him who says to the wood,‘ Awake!’ or to the mute stone,‘ Arise!’ Shall this teach? Behold, it is overlaid with gold and silver, and there is no breath at all within it.

I will record Rahab and Babylon among those who acknowledge me. Behold, Philistia, Tyre, and also Ethiopia:“ This one was born there.”

Wake up! Why do you sleep, Lord? Arise! Don’t reject us forever.

He saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor. Therefore his own arm brought salvation to him; and his righteousness sustained him.He put on righteousness as a breastplate, and a helmet of salvation on his head. He put on garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a mantle.

My righteousness is near. My salvation has gone out, and my arms will judge the peoples. The islands will wait for me, and they will trust my arm.

Who has believed our message? To whom has Yahweh’s arm been revealed?

You went out for the salvation of your people, for the salvation of your anointed. You crushed the head of the land of wickedness. You stripped them head to foot. Selah.

Yahweh reigns! He is clothed with majesty! Yahweh is armed with strength. The world also is established. It can’t be moved.

Be exalted, Yahweh, in your strength, so we will sing and praise your power.

He has shown strength with his arm. He has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.

that the word of Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spoke,“ Lord, who has believed our report? To whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?”

I have done no wrong, yet they are ready to attack me. Rise up, behold, and help me!

Or has God tried to go and take a nation for himself from among another nation, by trials, by signs, by wonders, by war, by a mighty hand, by an outstretched arm, and by great terrors, according to all that Yahweh your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes?

You are Yahweh, the God who chose Abram, brought him out of Ur of the Chaldees, gave him the name of Abraham,found his heart faithful before you, and made a covenant with him to give the land of the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Amorite, the Perizzite, the Jebusite, and the Girgashite, to give it to his offspring, and have performed your words; for you are righteous.“ You saw the affliction of our fathers in Egypt, and heard their cry by the Red Sea,and showed signs and wonders against Pharaoh, and against all his servants, and against all the people of his land; for you knew that they dealt proudly against them, and made a name for yourself, as it is today.You divided the sea before them, so that they went through the middle of the sea on the dry land; and you cast their pursuers into the depths, as a stone into the mighty waters.Moreover, in a pillar of cloud you led them by day; and in a pillar of fire by night, to give them light in the way in which they should go.“ You also came down on Mount Sinai, and spoke with them from heaven, and gave them right ordinances and true laws, good statutes and commandments,and made known to them your holy Sabbath, and commanded them commandments, statutes, and a law, by Moses your servant,and gave them bread from the sky for their hunger, and brought water out of the rock for them for their thirst, and commanded them that they should go in to possess the land which you had sworn to give them.

The great dragon was thrown down, the old serpent, he who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world. He was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.

Then the Lord awakened as one out of sleep, like a mighty man who shouts by reason of wine.

saying:“ We give you thanks, Lord God, the Almighty, the one who is and who was; because you have taken your great power and reigned.

Gideon said to him,“ Oh, my lord, if Yahweh is with us, why then has all this happened to us? Where are all his wondrous works which our fathers told us of, saying,‘ Didn’t Yahweh bring us up from Egypt?’ But now Yahweh has cast us off, and delivered us into the hand of Midian.”
