So justice is driven back, and righteousness stands at a distance; truth has stumbled in the streets, honesty cannot enter.

So people stop others from doing what is fair. They keep them from doing what is right. No one tells the truth in court anymore. No one is honest there.

Justice is turned back, and righteousness stands far away; for truth has stumbled in the public squares, and uprightness cannot enter.

Our courts oppose the righteous, and justice is nowhere to be found. Truth stumbles in the streets, and honesty has been outlawed.

没有人按公义求告，没有人凭诚实争辩；他们都倚靠虚无，说虚谎的话；所怀的是毒害，所生的是罪孽。

因此律法不能生效（“律法不能生效”原文作“律法松懈”），公理无法彰显。因为恶人把义人包围，所以公理颠倒。

你们欺压穷人，强征他们的五谷；因此，你们用琢磨过的石头建造房屋，却不能住在其中；你们栽种美好的葡萄园，却不能喝园中的酒。

先知说假预言，祭司凭己意把持权柄。我的子民竟喜爱这样，到了结局你们怎么办呢？”

那些制定奸恶律例的，和那些记录诡诈判语的，有祸了！他们想藉此屈枉穷乏人的公义，剥夺我子民中困苦人的权利，使寡妇作了他们的掠物，使孤儿作了他们的掳物。

笼中怎样满了雀鸟，他们的屋里也满了诡诈；他们就因此财雄势大。他们肥胖光润，作尽各种坏事；他们不为人辩护，不替孤儿辨屈，使他们获益，也不为穷人伸冤。

“你们不按公义审判，偏袒恶人，要到几时呢？（细拉）你们要为贫寒的人和孤儿伸冤，为困苦和穷乏的人伸张正义。要搭救贫寒和穷困的人，救他们脱离恶人的手。”他们没有知识，也不明白，在黑暗中走来走去；大地的一切根基都摇动了。

他们因受了贿赂，就称恶人为义；却把义人的权益夺去。

我在日光之下又看见：审判的地方有奸恶，维护公义的地方也有奸恶。

雅各家的首领，你们要听这个，以色列家的官长，你们也要听；你们厌恶公平，屈枉正直，用人血建锡安，以罪孽造耶路撒冷。城中的首领为贿赂而审判，祭司为薪俸而教导，先知为银子说默示，他们竟倚靠耶和华，说：“耶和华不是在我们中间吗？灾祸必不会临到我们身上。”

那忠贞的城，怎么会变成妓女！她从前充满公平，有公义居在其中，现在却有凶手居住。

这叛逆、污秽、欺压人的城有祸了！她不听话，也不受管教；她不倚靠耶和华，也不亲近她的神。城中的领袖都是咆哮的狮子，城中的审判官是夜间的豺狼，什么都不留到早晨。

他们双手善于作恶，官长和审判官都要求报酬；达官贵人说出心里的欲望；他们歪曲了一切。他们中最好的，也不过像荆棘，最正直的，也不过是有刺的篱笆。你的守望者所预言的日子，和你被鉴察的时候，已经来到；现在他们必要慌乱不安。不可信靠邻舍，也不可信任朋友，要守住你的嘴唇，不可向躺在你怀中的妻子透露。

他们使公正变为苦堇，把公义弃于地上。
