不可敬拜它們，也不可事奉它們，因為我永恆主你的上帝是忌邪的上帝；恨我的、我必察罰他們的罪愆、從父親到兒子、到三四代。

永恆主發神諭說：我豈不因這些事來施察罰呢？這樣的國我豈不加以報復呢？

看哪，這都寫在我面前，我必不靜坐不動，我乃要報應；我必施報應於他們兜裏，

然而萬軍之永恆主卻親自附耳啓示我，說：『這罪孽即到你們死了也不能得赦除』：這是主萬軍之永恆主說的。

這你們便是控訴自己作證自己是殺害神言人者的子孫了。你們祖宗的惡貫你們去滿盈吧！蛇啊，毒蛇的種啊，你們怎能逃避地獄的定罪呢？故此我差遣神言人智慧人和經學士到你們這裏來；你看吧，有的你們要殺害，要釘十字架，有的你們要在你們的會堂裏鞭打，從這一個城追逼到那一個城；叫流在地上的義血都歸到你們身上，從義人亞伯的血起，直到巴拉加兒子撒迦利亞的血為止；他就是你們在殿堂和祭壇間所殺害的。我實在告訴你們、這一切罪責、都必歸到這世代來。

你們剩下的人必因自己的罪愆、而在仇敵之地日見消削，也必因他們的祖宗的罪愆而像他們日見消削。

約沙法走他父親亞撒所始終走的路，總不偏離，乃行永恆主所看為對的事；只是邱壇還沒有廢去，人民仍然在邱壇上宰牲燻祭。
