“ Do not call conspiracy all that this people calls conspiracy, and do not fear what they fear, nor be in dread.

斯民所以為結黨結黨或作結盟下同者、爾勿以為結黨、勿畏其所畏、勿驚其所驚、

“ Do not call conspiracy everything this people calls a conspiracy; do not fear what they fear, and do not dread it.

“ People of Judah, do not agree with those who say Isaiah is guilty of treason. Do not fear what they fear. Do not be afraid.

“ Don’t call everything a conspiracy, like they do, and don’t live in dread of what frightens them.

Do not call everything a conspiracy that these people say is a conspiracy. Do not fear what they fear; do not be terrified.

“ You are not to say,‘ It is a conspiracy!’ Regarding everything that this people call a conspiracy, And you are not to fear what they fear or be in dread of it.

“ Do not say,‘ A conspiracy,’ Concerning all that this people call a conspiracy, Nor be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled.

Say ye not, A conspiracy, concerning all whereof this people shall say, A conspiracy; neither fear ye their fear, nor be in dread thereof.

Do not call everything an alliance these people say is an alliance. Do not fear what they fear; do not be terrified.

Say ye not, A confederacy, to all[ them to] whom this people shall say, A confederacy; neither fear ye their fear, nor be afraid.

“ Do not say,‘ Conspiracy,’ every time these people say the word. Don’t be afraid of what scares them; don’t be terrified.

“ Don’t say,‘ A conspiracy!’ concerning all about which this people say,‘ A conspiracy!’ neither fear their threats, nor be terrorized.

But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you will be blessed. Have no fear of them, nor be troubled,but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect,

And when you hear of wars and tumults, do not be terrified, for these things must first take place, but the end will not be at once.”

There they are, in great terror, where there is no terror! For God scatters the bones of him who encamps against you; you put them to shame, for God has rejected them.

“ Ah, stubborn children,” declares the Lord,“ who carry out a plan, but not mine, and who make an alliance, but not of my Spirit, that they may add sin to sin;

“ I, I am he who comforts you; who are you that you are afraid of man who dies, of the son of man who is made like grass,and have forgotten the Lord, your Maker, who stretched out the heavens and laid the foundations of the earth, and you fear continually all the day because of the wrath of the oppressor, when he sets himself to destroy? And where is the wrath of the oppressor?

Then Rezin king of Syria and Pekah the son of Remaliah, king of Israel, came up to wage war on Jerusalem, and they besieged Ahaz but could not conquer him.At that time Rezin the king of Syria recovered Elath for Syria and drove the men of Judah from Elath, and the Edomites came to Elath, where they dwell to this day.So Ahaz sent messengers to Tiglath-pileser king of Assyria, saying,“ I am your servant and your son. Come up and rescue me from the hand of the king of Syria and from the hand of the king of Israel, who are attacking me.”

“ I tell you, my friends, do not fear those who kill the body, and after that have nothing more that they can do.But I will warn you whom to fear: fear him who, after he has killed, has authority to cast into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him!

You journeyed to the king with oil and multiplied your perfumes; you sent your envoys far off, and sent down even to Sheol.You were wearied with the length of your way, but you did not say,“ It is hopeless”; you found new life for your strength, and so you were not faint.Whom did you dread and fear, so that you lied, and did not remember me, did not lay it to heart? Have I not held my peace, even for a long time, and you do not fear me?

And behold, there was a great earthquake, for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled back the stone and sat on it.His appearance was like lightning, and his clothing white as snow.And for fear of him the guards trembled and became like dead men.But the angel said to the women,“ Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified.

When the house of David was told,“ Syria is in league with Ephraim,” the heart of Ahaz and the heart of his people shook as the trees of the forest shake before the wind.And the Lord said to Isaiah,“ Go out to meet Ahaz, you and Shear-jashub your son, at the end of the conduit of the upper pool on the highway to the Washer’s Field.And say to him,‘ Be careful, be quiet, do not fear, and do not let your heart be faint because of these two smoldering stumps of firebrands, at the fierce anger of Rezin and Syria and the son of Remaliah.Because Syria, with Ephraim and the son of Remaliah, has devised evil against you, saying,“ Let us go up against Judah and terrify it, and let us conquer it for ourselves, and set up the son of Tabeel as king in the midst of it,”
