We all stumble in many ways. Anyone who is never at fault in what they say is perfect, able to keep their whole body in check.

All of us get tripped up in many ways. Suppose someone is never wrong in what they say. Then they are perfect. They are able to keep their whole body under control.

For we all stumble in many ways. And if anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle his whole body.

Indeed, we all make many mistakes. For if we could control our tongues, we would be perfect and could also control ourselves in every other way.

因為經上說：「凡要愛惜生命、享受好日子的人，要禁止舌頭不出惡言，嘴唇不說詭詐的話。

因為要憑你的話定你為義，也要憑你的話定你有罪。」

同樣，舌頭是小肢體，卻能說大話。看哪，最小的火能點燃最大的樹林。舌頭就是火。在我們百體中，舌頭是個不義的世界，能玷污全身，也能燒燬生命的輪子，而且是被地獄的火點燃的。

「你的百姓若得罪你，因為沒有人不犯罪，你向他們發怒，把他們交在仇敵面前，擄他們的人把他們帶到仇敵之地，或遠或近，

但要讓忍耐發揮完全的功用，使你們能又完全又完整，一無所缺。

但聖經把萬物都圈在罪裏，為要使因信耶穌基督而來的應許歸給信的人。

其實世上沒有行善而不犯罪的義人。

就如經上所記：「沒有義人，連一個也沒有。

你要禁止舌頭不出惡言，嘴唇不說詭詐的話。

誰能說：「我已經潔淨了我的心，脫淨了我的罪？」

我覺得有個律，就是我願意行善的時候，就有惡纏着我。

我克制己身，使它完全順服，免得我傳福音給別人，自己反而被淘汰了。

我們都如不潔淨的人，所行的義都像污穢的衣服。我們如葉子漸漸枯乾，罪孽像風把我們吹走。

我們傳揚他，是用諸般的智慧，勸戒各人，教導各人，要把各人在基督裏完完全全地獻上。

「你的百姓若得罪你，因為沒有人不犯罪，你向他們發怒，把他們交在仇敵面前，擄他們的人把他們帶到或遠或近之地；

因為肉體的情慾和聖靈相爭，聖靈和肉體相爭，這兩個彼此敵對，使你們不能做所願意做的。

因為凡遵守全部律法的，只違背了一條就是違犯了所有的律法。

在各樣善事上裝備你們，使你們遵行他的旨意；又藉着耶穌基督在我們裏面行他所喜悅的事。願榮耀歸給他，直到永永遠遠。阿們！

有一位你們那裏的人，作基督耶穌僕人的以巴弗問候你們。他禱告的時候常為你們竭力祈求，願你們能站穩而成熟，充分確信上帝一切的旨意。

那賜一切恩典的上帝曾在基督裏召了你們，得享他永遠的榮耀，在你們暫受苦難之後，必要親自成全你們，堅固你們，賜力量給你們，建立你們。
