Behold, listen! The cry of the daughter of my people from a distant land:“ Is the Lord not in Zion? Is her King not within her?”“ Why have they provoked Me with their carved images, with foreign idols?”

“ I will remove human and animal life; I will remove the birds of the sky And the fish of the sea, And the ruins along with the wicked; And I will eliminate mankind from the face of the earth,” declares the Lord.“ So I will stretch out My hand against Judah And against all the inhabitants of Jerusalem. And I will eliminate the remnant of Baal from this place, And the names of the idolatrous priests along with the other priests.

Indeed, you must not turn aside, for then you would go after useless things which cannot benefit or save, because they are useless.

Behold, all of them are false; Their works are nothing, Their cast metal images are wind and emptiness.

This is what you shall say to them:“ The gods that did not make the heavens and the earth will perish from the earth and from under these heavens.”

But they are altogether stupid and foolish; The instruction from idols is nothing but wood!

and saying,“ Men, why are you doing these things? We are also men, of the same nature as you, preaching the gospel to you, to turn from these useless things to a living God, who made the heaven and the earth and the sea, and everything that is in them.

They have made Me jealous with what is not God; They have provoked Me to anger with their idols. So I will make them jealous with those who are not a people; I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation,
