My tent is destroyed; all its ropes are snapped. My children are gone from me and are no more; no one is left now to pitch my tent or to set up my shelter.

Jerusalem is like a tent that has been destroyed. All its ropes have snapped. My people have gone away from me. Now no one is left to set up my tent. I have no one to set up my shelter.

My tent is destroyed, and all my cords are broken; my children have gone from me, and they are not; there is no one to spread my tent again and to set up my curtains.

My home is gone, and no one is left to help me rebuild it. My children have been taken away, and I will never see them again.

永恆主這麼說：『在拉瑪聽見有聲音，悲苦痛哭的聲音，是拉結哭她的兒女，不肯因兒女的緣故而受安慰，因為他們不在了。』

擴張你帳棚的地方哦！張大你居所的幔子哦，不要限制！拉長你的繩子，把你的橛子釘堅固哦！

看我的人、其眼不會再望見我了；你的眼正在看我，我卻不在了。

她的敵人成了首領，她的仇敵安享興盛；因為為了她的諸多悖逆，永恆主就使她受苦；她的孩童也去在敵人面前做俘虜。

惡人傾覆、歸於無有；義人的家恆久站立。

我將我的話放在你口中，將你掩護在我手的蔭影下，我展開了諸天，奠定了大地，又對錫安說：「你、乃是我的子民。」』

他拉緊了弓、好像仇敵；他舉了右手站着、如敵人，將悅人眼目的全都殺戮；在錫安小姐的房屋上他倒出他的烈怒像火一樣。永恆主變像仇敵吞滅了以色列；主吞滅了她所有的宮堡，毁壞了她的堡壘；在猶大小姐中加多了悲傷和哀悼。他用暴力破毁了自己的棚幕，好像個賊；他毁壞了制定節期的聚會處；永恆主使制定節期和安息日在錫安都被忘記；他又盛怒忿忿地厭棄君王和祭司。

你喪子以後所生的兒女還要說給你聽、說：『這地方給我住太窄；請讓位置給我，讓我居住。』那時你心裏必說：「我既喪子，又不能孕育，又是被擄、被放逐於外的，誰給我生了這些孩子呢？誰將這些孩子養大呢？看哪，我被剩下、獨自一人：這些孩子從哪兒來呢？」』主永恆主這麼說：『看吧，我必向列國舉手，向萬族之民立起我的旌旗；他們必將你的眾兒子抱在懷中帶來，將你的眾女兒放在肩上扛來。
