I gave the same message to Zedekiah king of Judah. I said,“ Bow your neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon; serve him and his people, and you will live.

I gave the same message to Zedekiah, the king of Judah. I said,“ Put your neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon. Obey him. Serve his people. Then you will live.

To Zedekiah king of Judah I spoke in like manner:“ Bring your necks under the yoke of the king of Babylon, and serve him and his people and live.

Then I repeated this same message to King Zedekiah of Judah.“ If you want to live, submit to the yoke of the king of Babylon and his people.

I spoke to King Zedekiah of Judah in the same way:“ Put your necks under the yoke of the king of Babylon, serve him and his people, and live!

I spoke words like all these to Zedekiah king of Judah, saying,“ Bring your necks under the yoke of the king of Babylon and serve him and his people, and live!

同一年，就是犹大王西底迦执政的第四年五月，基遍人押朔的儿子哈拿尼雅先知在耶和华的殿中当着祭司和全体民众的面对我说：

耶利米说：“以色列的上帝——万军之上帝耶和华说，‘如果你出去向巴比伦王的将领投降，就可以保住你和你全家的性命，这城也不会被烧毁。

如果哪一邦或哪一国不肯臣服于巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒，不肯负巴比伦王的轭，我必用战争、饥荒和瘟疫惩罚他们，直到我借巴比伦王的手毁灭他们。这是耶和华说的。

然而，那听从我的必安然居住，得享安宁，不怕灾祸。”

耶和华对我说：“你要做个木轭，用绳索套在自己颈上。然后请那些到耶路撒冷朝见犹大王西底迦的使者传话给他们的主人以东王、摩押王、亚扪王、泰尔王和西顿王，

西底迦二十一岁登基，在耶路撒冷执政十一年。他做他的上帝耶和华视为恶的事，耶利米先知向他传讲耶和华的话，他仍不肯在耶利米面前谦卑下来。尼布甲尼撒曾让他奉上帝的名起誓，他却背叛了尼布甲尼撒。他顽固不化，不肯归向以色列的上帝耶和华。

耶和华对我说：“你要对这些悖逆的人说，‘你们不明白这比喻的意思吗？’要告诉他们，巴比伦王攻取了耶路撒冷，把其中的君王和大臣掳到巴比伦，并从犹大王室中选出一人与他立约，要他效忠。巴比伦王掳去犹大国的重臣，使犹大国臣服于他，无法图强，只能遵守盟约，以求生存。后来，犹大王背叛了巴比伦王，派使者到埃及请求支援军队马匹。他能成功吗？他这样做怎能逃脱惩罚呢？他这样背约怎能逃脱惩罚呢？“我凭我的永恒起誓，巴比伦王立他做王，他却弃约背誓，他必死在巴比伦。敌人筑起围攻的土垒和高台大肆杀戮的时候，法老虽然兵强马壮，人多势众，仍无法帮他抗敌。他起誓降服，却弃约背誓，所以绝不能逃避后果。因此，主耶和华说，‘我凭我的永恒起誓，他既藐视与我所立的誓言，背弃与我所定的约，我必惩罚他。我要撒开网罗抓住他，把他带到巴比伦，审判他对我不忠的罪。他所有的精兵都要丧身刀下，余下的也要四散逃窜。这样，你们就知道这是我耶和华说的。
