“‘無論哪一國、哪一邦，不服事巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒，不把頸項放在巴比倫王的軛下，我必用刀劍、饑荒和瘟疫去懲罰那國，直到我藉著巴比倫王的手把他們完全消滅。’這是耶和華的宣告。

『「『將來無論哪一國哪一邦不服事他，不服事巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒，不將脖子放在巴比倫王的軛下的，我必用刀劍、饑荒、和瘟疫、去察罰那國，永恆主發神諭說，直到把他們都交在巴比倫王手中。

無論何國何族、不服事巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒、不以其項負巴比倫王之軛者、我必以鋒刃饑饉疫癘罰之、迨盡滅於其手、耶和華言之矣、

耶和華又曰、凡諸邦國、不肯服軛、事巴比倫王、尼布甲尼撒者、必以鋒刃、饑饉瘟疫罰之、翦滅務盡。

主又曰、若有民有國、不願服事巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒、不願項負巴比倫王之軛、我必以鋒刃饑饉疫癘罰其民、直至我藉巴比倫王之手、滅之務盡、

“‘“ If, however, any nation or kingdom will not serve Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon or bow its neck under his yoke, I will punish that nation with the sword, famine and plague, declares the Lord, until I destroy it by his hand.

“‘ “But suppose any nation or kingdom will not serve Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon. And suppose it refuses to put its neck under his yoke. Then I will punish that nation with war, hunger and plague,” announces the Lord.“ I will punish it until his powerful hand destroys it.

“‘“ But if any nation or kingdom will not serve this Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and put its neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, I will punish that nation with the sword, with famine, and with pestilence, declares the Lord, until I have consumed it by his hand.

So you must submit to Babylon’s king and serve him; put your neck under Babylon’s yoke! I will punish any nation that refuses to be his slave, says the Lord. I will send war, famine, and disease upon that nation until Babylon has conquered it.

“‘“ As for the nation or kingdom that does not serve King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon and does not place its neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, that nation I will punish by sword, famine, and plague— this is the LORD’s declaration— until through him I have destroyed it.

‘ And it will be that the nation or the kingdom which will not serve him, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and will not put its neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, I will punish that nation with the sword, with famine, and with plague,’ declares the Lord,‘ until I have eliminated it by his hand.

And it shall be, that the nation and kingdom which will not serve Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, and which will not put its neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, that nation I will punish,’ says the Lord,‘ with the sword, the famine, and the pestilence, until I have consumed them by his hand.

And it shall come to pass, that the nation and the kingdom which will not serve the same Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and that will not put their neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, that nation will I punish, saith Jehovah, with the sword, and with the famine, and with the pestilence, until I have consumed them by his hand.

“ As for the nation or kingdom that does not serve Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and does not place its neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, that nation I will punish by sword, famine, and plague”— this is the Lord’s declaration—“ until through him I have destroyed it.

And it shall come to pass,[ that] the nation and kingdom which will not serve the same Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, and that will not put their neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, that nation will I punish, saith the LORD, with the sword, and with the famine, and with the pestilence, until I have consumed them by his hand.

But suppose a nation or a kingdom will not be subject to King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon. Suppose it will not submit to the yoke of servitude to him. I, the LORD, affirm that I will punish that nation. I will use the king of Babylon to punish it with war, starvation, and disease until I have destroyed it.

“‘“‘ It will happen that I will punish the nation and the kingdom which will not serve the same Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and that will not put their neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon,’ says Yahweh,‘ with the sword, with famine, and with pestilence, until I have consumed them by his hand.

耶利米對西底家說：“耶和華萬軍的神、以色列的神這樣說：‘你若出去歸降巴比倫王的將領，你的性命就可以存活；這城也不會被火焚燒，你和你一家都可以存活。但你若不出去歸降巴比倫王的將領，這城就必交在迦勒底人的手中；他們必放火燒毀這城，你自己也不能從他們的手裡逃脫。’”西底家王對耶利米說：“我害怕那些已向迦勒底人投降的猶大人，恐怕迦勒底人把我交在他們手中，他們就會凌辱我。”

主耶和華這樣說：“我打發刀劍、饑荒、猛獸和瘟疫這四樣可怕的刑罰臨到耶路撒冷，要把人和牲畜從那裡剪除的時候，那情況豈不更嚴重嗎？

沙番的孫子、亞希甘的兒子基大利向他們和他們的士兵起誓，說：“你們不要懼怕服事迦勒底人，只管住在這地，服事巴比倫王，就可以平安無事。

‘你們若決意住在這地，我就建立你們，必不拆毀；栽植你們，必不拔除；因我為那已經降在你們身上的災禍回心轉意。你們所怕的巴比倫王，你們不要懼怕他；你們不要懼怕他（這是耶和華的宣告），因為我與你們同在，要拯救你們，要搭救你們脫離他的手。我要向你們施憐憫，他也會憐憫你們，使你們歸回自己的土地。’但是，你們若說：‘我們不住在這地’，不聽從耶和華你們的神的話，或說：‘不！我們要去埃及地，在那裡看不到戰爭，聽不見號角的聲音，也不會因缺乏糧食而飢餓；我們要留在那裡。’這樣，猶大餘剩的人哪，你們現在要聽耶和華的話！萬軍之耶和華以色列的神這樣說：‘你們若決意去埃及，到那裡寄居，你們懼怕的刀劍必在埃及地追上你們；你們恐懼的饑荒必在埃及緊隨著你們；你們必死在那裡。所有決意去埃及，在那裡寄居的人，必因刀劍、饑荒和瘟疫而死；他們沒有一人能倖存，或避過我降在他們身上的災禍。’“因為萬軍之耶和華以色列的神這樣說：‘我從前怎樣把我的怒氣和烈怒傾倒在耶路撒冷的居民身上，現在你們進入埃及的時候，我也必照樣把我的烈怒傾倒在你們身上。你們就必成為令人驚駭、被人咒罵、咒詛和羞辱的對象。你們必不能再看見這地方。

因為耶和華的怒氣向耶路撒冷和猶大發作，直到他把他們從自己的面前趕走。後來，西底家背叛了巴比倫王。西底家作王第九年十月十日，巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒率領他的全軍來攻打耶路撒冷；他們在城外安營，又在四周築壘攻城。於是，城被圍困，直到西底家王第十一年。四月九日，城裡饑荒非常嚴重，甚至那地的人民都斷了糧食。

如果他們不肯從你的手中接過這杯來喝，你就要對他們說：‘萬軍之耶和華這樣說：你們一定要喝。因為，看哪！我既然在那稱為我名下的城中先降災禍，你們真可免受懲罰嗎？你們必不能免受懲罰，因為我要呼喚刀劍來攻擊這地所有的居民。’”這是萬軍之耶和華的宣告。
