They turned their backs to me and not their faces; though I taught them again and again, they would not listen or respond to discipline.

第二天清晨，祂又回到圣殿。百姓聚集在祂那里，祂就坐下来教导他们。

他们却掩耳不听，一意孤行，任意行恶，越来越坏。

他们祖先的上帝耶和华因为怜爱祂的子民和祂的居所，就不断派使者来劝告他们。他们却嘲弄耶和华上帝的使者，藐视祂的话，嘲笑祂的先知，以致祂的愤怒临到祂的子民身上，无可挽救。

我再三差遣我的仆人——众先知劝你们改邪归正，不要追随、祭拜别的神明，以便你们可以在我赐给你们和你们祖先的土地上安居乐业，你们却充耳不闻，毫不理会。

我屡次差遣我的仆人——众先知警告他们不要再做令我深恶痛绝的事，

我要在敌人面前驱散他们，就像东风吹散尘土一样。在他们遭难的时候，我必以背相向，不理睬他们。”

他们却不理会，背过身去，充耳不闻，

可是，我越召唤他们，他们就跑得越远，给巴力献祭，向偶像烧香。

“从犹大王亚们的儿子约西亚执政第十三年，到今天已有二十三年。在这期间，我不断把耶和华对我说的话传给你们，你们却充耳不闻。耶和华屡次差遣祂的仆人——众先知警告你们，你们却充耳不闻，毫不理会。
