Concerning the sons of Ammon. This is what the Lord says:“ Does Israel have no sons? Or has he no heirs? Why then has Malcam taken possession of Gad, And his people settled in its cities?

Concerning the Ammonites: This is what the Lord says:“ Has Israel no sons? Has Israel no heir? Why then has Molek taken possession of Gad? Why do his people live in its towns?

This message was given concerning the Ammonites. This is what the Lord says:“ Are there no descendants of Israel to inherit the land of Gad? Why are you, who worship Molech, living in its towns?

About the Ammonites, this is what the LORD says: Does Israel have no sons? Is he without an heir? Why then has Milcom dispossessed Gad and his people settled in their cities?

Of the children of Ammon. Thus saith Jehovah: Hath Israel no sons? hath he no heir? why then doth Malcam possess Gad, and his people dwell in the cities thereof?

This is what the Lord says:“ For three offenses of the sons of Ammon, and for four, I will not revoke its punishment, Because they ripped open the pregnant women of Gilead In order to enlarge their borders.So I will kindle a fire on the wall of Rabbah, And it will consume her citadels Amid war cries on the day of battle, And amid a storm on the day of tempest.Their king will go into exile, He and his princes together,” says the Lord.

“ And you, son of man, prophesy and say,‘ This is what the Lord God says concerning the sons of Ammon and their taunting,’ and say:‘ A sword, a sword is drawn, sharpened for the slaughter, to make it consume, so that it may be like lightning—while they see false visions for you, while they divine lies for you— to place you on the necks of the wicked who are killed, whose day has come, in the time of the punishment of the end.Return it to its sheath. In the place where you were created, in the land of your origin, I will judge you.I will pour out My indignation on you; I will blow on you with the fire of My wrath, and I will hand you over to brutal men, craftsmen of destruction.You will be fuel for the fire; your blood will be in the midst of the land. You will not be remembered, for I, the Lord, have spoken.’ ”

Now it came about after this, that the sons of Moab and the sons of Ammon, together with some of the Meunites, came to make war against Jehoshaphat.

“ Son of man, set your face against the sons of Ammon and prophesy against them,and say to the sons of Ammon,‘ Hear the word of the Lord God! This is what the Lord God says:“ Because you said,‘ Aha!’ against My sanctuary when it was profaned, and against the land of Israel when it was made desolate, and against the house of Judah when they went into exile,therefore, behold, I am going to give you to the people of the east as a possession, and they will set up their encampments among you and make their dwellings among you; they will eat your fruit and drink your milk.I will make Rabbah a pasture for camels, and the sons of Ammon a resting place for flocks. Then you will know that I am the Lord.”For this is what the Lord God says:“ Because you have clapped your hands and stamped your feet, and have rejoiced with all the malice in your soul against the land of Israel,therefore, behold, I have reached out with My hand against you and I will give you as plunder to the nations. And I will cut you off from the peoples and eliminate you from the lands. I will exterminate you. So you will know that I am the Lord.”‘ The Lord God says this:“ Because Moab and Seir say,‘ Behold, the house of Judah is like all the nations,’therefore, behold, I am going to deprive the flank of Moab of its cities, of its cities which are on its frontiers, the glory of the land, Beth jeshimoth, Baal meon, and Kiriathaim;and I will give it as a possession along with the sons of Ammon to the people of the east, so that the sons of Ammon will not be remembered among the nations.

To Edom, Moab, and the sons of Ammon;

No Ammonite or Moabite may enter the assembly of the Lord; none of their descendants, even to the tenth generation, may ever enter the assembly of the Lord,

“ I have heard the taunting of Moab And the abusive speech of the sons of Ammon, With which they have taunted My people And boasted against their territory.Therefore, as I live,” declares the Lord of armies, The God of Israel,“ Moab will assuredly be like Sodom, And the sons of Ammon like Gomorrah— Ground overgrown with weeds and full of salt mines, And a permanent desolation. The remnant of My people will plunder them, And the remainder of My nation will inherit them.”This they will have in return for their arrogance, because they have taunted and boasted against the people of the Lord of armies.The Lord will be terrifying to them, for He will starve all the gods of the earth; and all the coastlands of the nations will bow down to Him, everyone from his own place.

Concerning Damascus:“ Hamath and Arpad are put to shame, For they have heard bad news; They despair. There is anxiety at the sea, It cannot be calmed.

Now Nahash the Ammonite went up and besieged Jabesh gilead; and all the men of Jabesh said to Nahash,“ Make a covenant with us and we will serve you.”But Nahash the Ammonite said to them,“ I will make it with you on this condition, that I will gouge out the right eye of every one of you, and thereby I will inflict a disgrace on all Israel.”So the elders of Jabesh said to him,“ Allow us seven days to send messengers throughout the territory of Israel. Then, if there is no one to save us, we will come out to you.”

Concerning Moab. This is what the Lord of armies, the God of Israel says:“ Woe to Nebo, for it has been destroyed; Kiriathaim has been put to shame, it has been captured; The high stronghold has been put to shame and shattered.

Concerning Edom. This is what the Lord of armies says:“ Is there no longer any wisdom in Teman? Has good advice been lost by the prudent? Has their wisdom decayed?

For the sons of Ammon and Moab rose up against the inhabitants of Mount Seir, completely destroying them; and when they had finished with the inhabitants of Seir, they helped to destroy one another.

On that day the Book of Moses was read aloud as the people listened; and there was found written in it that no Ammonite or Moabite was ever to enter the assembly of God,because they did not meet the sons of Israel with bread and water, but hired Balaam against them to curse them. However, our God turned the curse into a blessing.

And the king of the sons of Ammon said to the messengers of Jephthah,“ It is because Israel took my land when they came up from Egypt, from the Arnon as far as the Jabbok and the Jordan; so return them peaceably now.”But Jephthah sent messengers once again to the king of the sons of Ammon,and they said to him,“ This is what Jephthah says:‘ Israel did not take the land of Moab nor the land of the sons of Ammon.

As for the younger, she also gave birth to a son, and named him Ben ammi; he is the father of the sons of Ammon to this day.

Gebal, Ammon, and Amalek, Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre;

But when Sanballat the Horonite and Tobiah the Ammonite official, and Geshem the Arab heard about it, they mocked us and despised us, and said,“ What is this thing that you are doing? Are you rebelling against the king?”

The enemy has come to an end in everlasting ruins, And You have uprooted the cities; The very memory of them has perished.

from the Jordan eastward, all the land of Gilead, the Gadites, the Reubenites, and the Manassites; from Aroer, which is by the Valley of the Arnon, that is, Gilead and Bashan.

and send word to the king of Edom, the king of Moab, the king of the sons of Ammon, the king of Tyre, and to the king of Sidon by the messengers who come to Jerusalem to Zedekiah king of Judah.

behold, I will send and take all the families of the north,’ declares the Lord,‘ and I will send to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, My servant, and will bring them against this land and against its inhabitants and against all these surrounding nations; and I will completely destroy them and make them an object of horror and hissing, and an everlasting place of ruins.

When you come opposite the sons of Ammon, do not attack them nor provoke them, for I will not give you any of the land of the sons of Ammon as a possession, because I have given it to the sons of Lot as a possession.’

Concerning Kedar and the kingdoms of Hazor, which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon defeated. This is what the Lord says:“ Arise, go up to Kedar And devastate the people of the east.

And the anger of the Lord burned against Israel, and He sold them into the hands of the Philistines, and into the hands of the sons of Ammon.And they afflicted and oppressed the sons of Israel that year; for eighteen years they oppressed all the sons of Israel who were beyond the Jordan, in Gilead in the land of the Amorites.

Now when Sanballat, Tobiah, the Arabs, the Ammonites, and the Ashdodites heard that the repair of the walls of Jerusalem went on, and that the breaches began to be closed, they were very angry.

And the Lord sent against him bands of Chaldeans, bands of Arameans, bands of Moabites, and bands of Ammonites. He sent them against Judah to destroy it, in accordance with the word of the Lord which He had spoken through His servants the prophets.
