I have heard a rumour from the LORD, and an ambassador is sent unto the heathen,[ saying], Gather ye together, and come against her, and rise up to the battle.

I have heard a message from the Lord; an envoy was sent to the nations to say,“ Assemble yourselves to attack it! Rise up for battle!”

I’ve heard a message from the Lord. A messenger was sent to the nations. The Lord told him to say,“ Gather yourselves together to attack Edom! Prepare for battle!”

I have heard a message from the Lord, and an envoy has been sent among the nations:“ Gather yourselves together and come against her, and rise up for battle!

The vision of Obadiah. Thus saith the Lord GOD concerning Edom; We have heard a rumour from the LORD, and an ambassador is sent among the heathen, Arise ye, and let us rise up against her in battle.Behold, I have made thee small among the heathen: thou art greatly despised.The pride of thine heart hath deceived thee, thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, whose habitation[ is] high; that saith in his heart, Who shall bring me down to the ground?Though thou exalt[ thyself] as the eagle, and though thou set thy nest among the stars, thence will I bring thee down, saith the LORD.

And lest your heart faint, and ye fear for the rumour that shall be heard in the land; a rumour shall both come[ one] year, and after that in[ another] year[ shall come] a rumour, and violence in the land, ruler against ruler.

For, lo, I will raise and cause to come up against Babylon an assembly of great nations from the north country: and they shall set themselves in array against her; from thence she shall be taken: their arrows[ shall be] as of a mighty expert man; none shall return in vain.And Chaldea shall be a spoil: all that spoil her shall be satisfied, saith the LORD.Because ye were glad, because ye rejoiced, O ye destroyers of mine heritage, because ye are grown fat as the heifer at grass, and bellow as bulls;Your mother shall be sore confounded; she that bare you shall be ashamed: behold, the hindermost of the nations[ shall be] a wilderness, a dry land, and a desert.Because of the wrath of the LORD it shall not be inhabited, but it shall be wholly desolate: every one that goeth by Babylon shall be astonished, and hiss at all her plagues.Put yourselves in array against Babylon round about: all ye that bend the bow, shoot at her, spare no arrows: for she hath sinned against the LORD.Shout against her round about: she hath given her hand: her foundations are fallen, her walls are thrown down: for it[ is] the vengeance of the LORD: take vengeance upon her; as she hath done, do unto her.Cut off the sower from Babylon, and him that handleth the sickle in the time of harvest: for fear of the oppressing sword they shall turn every one to his people, and they shall flee every one to his own land.

Destruction cometh; and they shall seek peace, and[ there shall be] none.Mischief shall come upon mischief, and rumour shall be upon rumour; then shall they seek a vision of the prophet; but the law shall perish from the priest, and counsel from the ancients.

And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all[ these things] must come to pass, but the end is not yet.

Set ye up a standard in the land, blow the trumpet among the nations, prepare the nations against her, call together against her the kingdoms of Ararat, Minni, and Ashchenaz; appoint a captain against her; cause the horses to come up as the rough caterpillers.Prepare against her the nations with the kings of the Medes, the captains thereof, and all the rulers thereof, and all the land of his dominion.

Make bright the arrows; gather the shields: the LORD hath raised up the spirit of the kings of the Medes: for his device[ is] against Babylon, to destroy it; because it[ is] the vengeance of the LORD, the vengeance of his temple.

That sendeth ambassadors by the sea, even in vessels of bulrushes upon the waters,[ saying], Go, ye swift messengers, to a nation scattered and peeled, to a people terrible from their beginning hitherto; a nation meted out and trodden down, whose land the rivers have spoiled!All ye inhabitants of the world, and dwellers on the earth, see ye, when he lifteth up an ensign on the mountains; and when he bloweth a trumpet, hear ye.

Behold, I will send a blast upon him, and he shall hear a rumour, and return to his own land; and I will cause him to fall by the sword in his own land.

Lift ye up a banner upon the high mountain, exalt the voice unto them, shake the hand, that they may go into the gates of the nobles.I have commanded my sanctified ones, I have also called my mighty ones for mine anger,[ even] them that rejoice in my highness.
