“ Among my people are the wicked who lie in wait like men who snare birds and like those who set traps to catch people.

“ Jeremiah, some of my people are evil. They hide and wait just as people hide to catch birds. They set traps for people.

For wicked men are found among my people; they lurk like fowlers lying in wait. They set a trap; they catch men.

“ Indeed, there are wicked scoundrels among my people. They lie in wait like bird catchers hiding in ambush. They set deadly traps to catch people.

他們若說：「跟我們來吧，我們去埋伏殺人，暗害無辜者取樂；

他們狼狽為奸，商量暗設網羅，以為誰也看不見。

他們像獅子埋伏在暗處，獵取無助的人，用網羅拖走他們。不幸的人被擊垮，倒在他們的暴力下。

「人子啊，你要審判耶路撒冷這殺人流血的城。你要審判她，使她知道自己一切可憎的行為。你要向她宣告主耶和華的話，說，『唉，你這殺人流血、製造偶像玷污自己的城啊，你的末日到了。你既犯罪殺人、製造偶像玷污自己、自招審判，我要使你成為列國列邦侮辱和譏諷的對象。你這聲名狼藉、混亂不堪的城將要受到遠近各國的恥笑。「『看啊，在你城中的以色列首領各逞權勢，殺人流血。他們輕慢父母，壓迫寄居者，欺負孤兒寡婦。他們藐視我的聖物，褻瀆我的安息日。在你這城中，有人好誹謗、殺人流血，有人在山上吃祭物，有人淫亂，有人與繼母通姦，羞辱父親，有人姦污經期不潔的婦女，有人與鄰居的妻子幹出可憎之事，有人玷污自己的兒媳婦，有人姦污自己的同父姊妹。在你這城中，他們受賄殺人，放債取利，壓榨鄰居，早把我忘了。這是主耶和華說的。

當你使敵軍突襲他們時，願他們家中傳出哭喊聲，因為他們挖陷阱要捕捉我，設圈套要絆我的腳。

「你要高聲呼喊，不要停止；要放聲高呼，像響亮的號角。要向我的子民宣告他們的過犯，向雅各家宣告他們的罪惡。

你為何使人像海裡的魚，像沒有首領的爬蟲呢？迦勒底人用鉤子鉤住他們，用漁網網住他們，用拖網把他們聚在一起，並因此而歡喜快樂。

在飛鳥眼前設網羅，徒勞無功。他們埋伏，卻自流己血；他們伏擊，卻自害己命。

耶和華說：「我的子民愚頑，不認識我，是蒙昧無知的兒女，只知行惡，不知行善。」

包括西庇太的兩個兒子雅各和約翰。耶穌對西門說：「不要怕，從今以後，你將成為得人的漁夫。」

掃羅想用矛把大衛刺透，釘在牆上，大衛躲開了，矛插在了牆上。大衛當晚逃走了。掃羅派人監視大衛的家，要在早上殺死他。大衛的妻子米甲警告他說：「如果你今晚不逃命，明早必死無疑。」
