因为，看哪！我必激动强国从北方之地联群而来，攻击巴比伦；他们要列阵攻打巴比伦；巴比伦就必被攻取。他们的箭必像善战的勇士，不会空手而回。

因你向黎巴嫩使用暴力，杀灭惊吓野兽；又杀人流血，向全地各城和其中所有居民施行暴力，就必受到报应（“报应”原文作“遮盖”）。

因你抢掠多国，杀人流血，向全地各城和其中所有居民施行暴力，所以剩下的人也必抢掠你。

他们紧握弓和枪，性情残忍，毫无怜悯；他们的声音像海洋怒吼；巴比伦的居民哪！他们骑着战马，在战场上如同一人，列阵攻击你们。

大卫清早起来，把羊群托给一个看守的人，就照着耶西所吩咐他的，带着食物去了。他来到军营中的时候，军队正出去列阵，吶喊助阵。

我得罪了你，唯独得罪你；我行了你眼中看为恶的事，因此，你宣判的时候，显为公义；你审判的时候，显为清正。

“抢夺我产业的啊！你们虽然欢喜快乐，像踹谷的母牛犊跳跃，像雄壮的马嘶叫；

你们要磨尖箭头，拿起盾牌（“拿起盾牌”《七十士译本》译作“装满箭袋”）；耶和华定意要毁灭巴比伦，所以激动玛代诸王的心；这是耶和华的报复，就是为他的殿而施行的报复。你们要竖起旗帜，攻击巴比伦的城墙，并要加强防卫，设立防哨，布下埋伏；因为耶和华不但定意，也必作成他攻击巴比伦居民的话。

我必打发外族人去巴比伦簸扬它，扬净它的地；在它遭祸的日子，他们必从四围攻击它。

“万军之耶和华这样说：看哪！我要折断以拦的弓，就是他们战斗力强的武器。

“你们要在地上竖起旗帜，在列国中吹号角，使列国作好准备攻击巴比伦，把亚拉腊、米尼、亚实基拿等国召来攻击她，又指派元帅来攻击她，使马匹像蝗虫汹涌上来。

她额上写着一个名号：“奥秘，大巴比伦，地上的淫妇和可憎的物之母。”

马匹啊，上前吧！战车啊，狂奔吧！勇士啊，就是紧握盾牌的古实人和弗人，以及拉弓的吕底亚人哪，上阵吧！

看哪！我要激动玛代人来攻击他们。玛代人不重视银子，也不喜爱金子。他们的弓箭必射倒年轻人，他们不怜悯妇人腹中的婴儿；他们的眼也不顾惜小孩。

约押看见自己前后受敌，就从以色列所有的精兵中，挑选一部分出来，使他们摆阵去迎战亚兰人，

他们的箭锐利，所有的弓都上了弦；他们的马蹄看来像火石，车辆似旋风。

听啊！山上有喧哗的声音，好像是众多的人民；听啊！有多国的人的嘈杂声，好像是列国聚集在一起。万军之耶和华正在数点军兵，预备打仗。
