七月十七日，方舟停在亚拉腊山上。

你们要在万国中传扬报告，竖立大旗；要报告，不可隐瞒，说：“巴比伦被攻取，彼勒蒙羞，米罗达惊惶。巴比伦的神像都蒙羞；他的偶像都惊惶。

因为有多国和大君王必使迦勒底人作奴仆；我也必照他们的行为，按他们手所做的报应他们。”

你们要竖立大旗，攻击巴比伦的城墙；要坚固瞭望台，派定守望的设下埋伏；因为耶和华指着巴比伦居民所说的话、所定的意，他已经作成。

应当在净光的山竖立大旗，向群众扬声招手，使他们进入贵胄的门。我吩咐我所挑出来的人；我招呼我的勇士，就是那矜夸高傲之辈，为要成就我怒中所定的。山间有多人的声音，好像是大国人民。有许多国的民聚集哄嚷的声音；这是万军之耶和华点齐军队，预备打仗。他们从远方来，从天边来，就是耶和华并他恼恨的兵器要毁灭这全地。

歌篾的儿子是亚实基拿、低法、陀迦玛。

看哪，有一种民从北方而来，并有一大国和许多君王被激动，从地极来到。他们拿弓和枪，性情残忍，不施怜悯；他们的声音像海浪砰訇。巴比伦城啊，他们骑马，都摆队伍如上战场的人，要攻击你。

蝗虫的形状，好像预备出战的马一样，头上戴的好像金冠冕，脸面好像男人的脸面，头发像女人的头发，牙齿像狮子的牙齿。胸前有甲，好像铁甲。它们翅膀的声音，好像许多车马奔跑上阵的声音。有尾巴像蝎子，尾巴上的毒钩能伤人五个月。有无底坑的使者作它们的王，按着希伯来话，名叫亚巴顿，希腊话，名叫亚玻伦。

万军之耶和华指着自己起誓说：“我必使敌人充满你，像蚂蚱一样；他们必呐喊攻击你。”

世上一切的居民和地上所住的人哪，山上竖立大旗的时候你们要看；吹角的时候你们要听。

耶和华说：埃及的树林虽然不能寻察，敌人却要砍伐，因他们多于蝗虫，不可胜数。

一日在他的神尼斯洛庙里叩拜，他儿子亚得米勒和沙利色用刀杀了他，就逃到亚拉腊地。他儿子以撒哈顿接续他作王。

城中若吹角，百姓岂不惊恐呢？灾祸若临到一城，岂非耶和华所降的吗？

因为那些人带着牲畜帐棚来，像蝗虫那样多，人和骆驼无数，都进入国内，毁坏全地。

便雅悯人哪，你们要逃出耶路撒冷，在提哥亚吹角，在伯哈基琳立号旗；因为有灾祸与大毁灭从北方张望。

因为我必聚集万国与耶路撒冷争战，城必被攻取，房屋被抢夺，妇女被玷污，城中的民一半被掳去；剩下的民仍在城中，不致剪除。

那日是黑暗、幽冥、密云、乌黑的日子，好像晨光铺满山岭。有一队蝗虫又大又强；从来没有这样的，以后直到万代也必没有。它们前面如火烧灭，后面如火焰烧尽。未到以前，地如伊甸园；过去以后，成了荒凉的旷野；没有一样能躲避它们的。

在那里，火必烧灭你；刀必杀戮你，吞灭你如同蝻子。任你加增人数多如蝻子，多如蝗虫吧！你增添商贾，多过天上的星；蝻子吃尽而去。你的首领多如蝗虫；你的军长仿佛成群的蚂蚱，天凉的时候齐落在篱笆上，日头一出便都飞去，人不知道落在何处。
