蓋耶和華使巴比倫荒蕪、絕其中之譁然、敵若大水、波濤漰渤、發其喧闐之聲、

蓋我耶和華滅巴比倫、邑中譁然、聲若波濤洶湧、我平息之。

主滅巴比倫、其中諠譁、聲若大水之波濤洶湧、必使盡息、

The Lord will destroy Babylon; he will silence her noisy din. Waves of enemies will rage like great waters; the roar of their voices will resound.

I will destroy Babylon. I will put an end to all its noise. Waves of enemies will sweep through it like great waters. The roar of their voices will fill the air.

For the Lord is laying Babylon waste and stilling her mighty voice. Their waves roar like many waters; the noise of their voice is raised,

For the Lord is destroying Babylon. He will silence her loud voice. Waves of enemies pound against her; the noise of battle rings through the city.

For the LORD is going to devastate Babylon; he will silence her mighty voice. Their waves roar like a huge torrent; the tumult of their voice resounds,

For the Lord is going to destroy Babylon, And He will make her loud noise vanish from her. And their waves will roar like many waters; The clamor of their voices sounds forth.

Because the Lord is plundering Babylon And silencing her loud voice, Though her waves roar like great waters, And the noise of their voice is uttered,

For Jehovah layeth Babylon waste, and destroyeth out of her the great voice; and their waves roar like many waters; the noise of their voice is uttered:

For the LORD is ready to destroy Babylon, and put an end to her loud noise. Their waves will roar like turbulent waters. They will make a deafening noise.

我也必使歡躍的聲音和喜樂的聲音、新郎的聲音和新婦的聲音、推磨的聲音和燈的亮光、從他們中間都息滅掉。

天使對我說：『你所看見的、淫婦所坐的眾水、就是許多民族、許多羣眾、許多邦國、許多種語言的人。

『他們必一同吼叫像少壯獅子，必像小獅子怒吼着。他們火熱時候，我必為他們擺設酒席，使他們沉醉，以至於暈倒過去，睡個長覺，永不醒起：永恆主發神諭說。

外國之民怒號着，就像大水之怒號。但上帝叱責他們，他們就遠遠地逃跑，又被追趕、如同山上的風前糠，又如暴風前的滾轉草。

使諸海之怒號、其波浪之怒號、和萬國之民的喧嘩平靜的；

死亡的繩索曾環繞着我；毁滅的急流衝擊着我；

大海漲起，漫過巴比倫；她被喧囂洶湧的波浪淹沒了。

那麼主永恆主就這麼說：看吧，推羅，我跟你作對；我必叫許多國上來攻擊你，如同海使它的波浪湧上來一樣。

關於摩押的神託之言。一夜之間既被蹂躪，摩押的亞珥就完啦！一夜之間既被蹂躪，摩押的基珥就完啦！

永恆主啊，洪流揚了起來，洪流揚了聲，洪流揚起着衝激的浪。永恆主在高天、大有威力，勝過諸水的雷轟聲，其威力勝過洋海的激浪。

『在日月星辰上必有迹象，在地上列國人必有困苦；因了海和翻浪之響聲，人都在為難失措中；

彈絃琴、作樂、吹簫笛、吹號筒者、的聲音在你中間決不能再聽到了；各手工業各手藝人在你中間決不能再看到了；石磨的聲音在你中間決不能再聽到了；燈光決不能再照耀於你中間了；新郎新娘的聲音在你中間決不能再聽到了；因為你的商人曾經是地上的大人物；因為列國都曾在你的邪術中受了迷惑。』

迦勒底小姐啊，靜靜坐下，進入黑暗中哦，因為你不再稱為「列國皇后」了。

迦勒底必成為掠物；凡擄掠她的都必心滿意足：永恆主發神諭說。『搶掠我產業的啊，你們雖歡喜，雖快樂，雖踹弄草地像母牛犢，又發嘶聲如雄壯的馬，然而你們的母卻要極慚愧，生你們的必蒙羞辱。看吧，她必列在諸國之末，成為曠野、旱地、草原。因永恆主的震怒，她必無人居住，乃要全然荒涼；凡經過巴比倫的、都必驚駭，也必因她所受的一切擊傷而嗤笑。所有拉弓的啊，你們要在巴比倫四圍擺陣，射箭攻擊她，不要顧惜箭枝，因為她犯罪得罪了永恆主。你們要四圍吶喊攻擊她；她已授手投降了；她的外郭倒壞了；她的城牆翻毁了；因為這是永恆主報復的事：你們要向巴比倫報復：她怎樣待人，你們也要怎樣待她。

擊鼓之樂止息，歡躍之喧鬧停止，彈琴之樂止息。他們不得再又唱歌又喝酒了；喝濃酒的必覺得苦了。混混亂亂的都市破敗了；各家關門閉戶，使人不得進去。街上因無酒而有呼喊之聲；一切喜樂都已過去；地上的娛樂盡被擄掠。
