斯時也、天地及凡所有、必因巴比倫、謳歌喜樂、殘賊者必自北方臨之、耶和華言之矣、

彼戢干戈、爰及地極、折弓斷戟、火焚戰車兮、

當自巴比倫逃出、各救己生、毋因其罪而見絕、斯乃耶和華復仇之期、必報之也、

於此折弓矢、毀盾劍與戰具兮、

伸冤在我、其足躓時、我必報之、禍日伊邇、災難速臨、

耶和華曰、昔巴比倫人、暨迦勒底居民、在錫安所行之惡、我必報之、使爾目睹、○

依人所為、而加報施、震怒乎仇敵、降罰於島嶼、

又爾所見之獸、與其十角、將惡此妓、使之荒墟裸體、食其肉、且盡焚之、

耶和華曰、迦勒底將見虜、凡虜之者、皆饜其欲、

以色列諸邑居民必出、取其器械、干盾弓矢、杖梃矛戟、為薪燃火、七年之久、

刃臨於矜誇者、使為愚蠢、刃臨於其武士、使之驚惶、

蓋耶和華有復仇之日、為錫安之故、有報施之年、

巴比倫之武士不戰、居於保障、厥力已衰、有如婦女、第宅被焚、門楗見折、

蓋厥罪滔天、上帝憶其不義、彼之加諸人者、亦加諸彼、依其所行而倍之、於其所調之杯、亦倍調予之、

自巴比倫逃脫者、揚聲宣告於錫安、我上帝耶和華復仇、為其殿宇復仇也、其集挽弓之眾、來攻巴比倫、列營圍之、勿容一人逃遁、循其所為而報之、依其所行以待之、緣彼狂傲、悖逆以色列之聖者耶和華也、

告心怯者曰、強乃志、勿畏葸、爾之上帝、將以復仇而臨、行上帝之復仇、彼必至而救爾、

慘澹之象、見示於我、欺者行其欺、殘者行其殘、以攔歟、爾其往哉、瑪代歟、爾其圍之、凡彼嗟歎、我盡息之、

天乎、諸聖徒與使徒及先知乎、宜因之而樂、蓋上帝以爾之鞫鞫彼也、○

蓋以苦報夫苦爾者、以偕我之安報爾受苦者、乃上帝之義也、

將亡之巴比倫女歟、以爾之待我者待爾、斯人其有福兮、

萬軍之耶和華云、以攔所恃為強之弓、我必折之、

勇士折其弓、躓者束以力、

以其鞫真且義也、蓋曾鞫以淫污世之大妓、且於彼身伸其諸僕流血之冤、

然其弓堅勁、其臂健捷、惟賴雅各全能之主、其為牧者、以色列之磐石、由之而出、

擊爾弓脫乎左手、使爾矢隕自右手、

其刃必刺己心、其弓見折兮、
