Jeremiah had written on a scroll about all the disasters that would come upon Babylon— all that had been recorded concerning Babylon.

Jeremiah had written about all the trouble that would come on Babylon. He had written it down on a scroll. It included everything that had been recorded about Babylon.

永恆主回答我說：『將異象寫下來，使它清清楚楚在版上，讓讀的人雖快跑也讀得來。因為異象還在等候它的定期；它向着結局喘吁吁地急進，必不令人失望。就使它躭延，你還要等候；因為它一定臨到，必不遲延。』

於是耶利米另取了一卷，交給尼利亞的兒子祕書巴錄，巴錄就由耶利米口傳將猶大王約雅敬所燒於火中的書上一切話、都寫在那上頭，還把許多類似的話加在裏面。

如今你去，在他們面前將這話寫在版上，記在書上，以便傳留後日，做證據到永遠。

『永恆主以色列之上帝這麼說：你要將我對你說過的一切話都寫在書上。因為、你看、日子必到，永恆主發神諭說，我必恢復我人民以色列和猶大的故業，永恆主說，我必使他們返回我所賜給他們列祖之地，他們就得這地以為業。』

『你取一卷書卷，將我對你說攻擊耶路撒冷、攻擊猶大和各國的一切話，從我對你說話的那一天，從約西亞執政的日子起，直到今日、都寫在那上頭；或者猶大家聽見我想要降與他們的一切災禍，各人就回轉，離開各人的壞行徑也不一定，我好赦免他們的罪孽和他們的罪。』於是耶利米把尼利亞的兒子巴錄叫來；巴錄就由耶利米口傳將永恆主的一切話、就是他對耶利米所說的、都寫在書卷上。

所以你要把所看見的、就是現在的事、和此後必須發生的事、都寫下來。

永恆主對我說：『你拿一個大牌，用人通行的筆法寫上「擄搶快到」這幾個字。』我便叫可靠的見證人祭司烏利亞和耶比利家的兒子撒迦利亞來為我做見證。我親近了神言人太太，她懷了孕，生個兒子，永恆主對我說：『給他起名叫擄搶快到；因為在這小孩子還不曉得叫父叫母之先，大馬色的資財和撒瑪利亞被擄掠之物就要被搬到亞述王面前去了。』

但你呢、但以理啊，你要把這些話封閉着，把這卷書密封着、到末了時期。而大眾們卻要跑來跑去追求、使知識增長。』

說着話說：『你所看見的要寫在書上，寄給以弗所、士每拿、別迦摩、推雅推喇、撒狄、非拉鐵非、老底嘉、那七個教會。』
