谁是智慧人可以解明这事？耶和华的口向谁说过，以致他可以传讲这事？为什么这地被毁坏，像旷野般荒凉，无人经过呢？

誰是智慧人可以明白這事？永恆主的口向誰說過，使他可以傳說：遍地為甚麼滅沒、荒廢像野地，無人經過呢？

孰為智者、克明斯事、耶和華與誰言、使之宣告、斯土何為被燬遭焚、有若曠野、無人經之、

遍地蕭條、恍若沙漠、人蹤罕至、焉得哲人、蒙予啟示、而言其故。

誰為智者、能明此事、誰蒙主諭、能宣示國緣何而滅亡、地緣何而焚燬、成如沙漠、無人來往、

Who is wise enough to understand this? Who has been instructed by the Lord and can explain it? Why has the land been ruined and laid waste like a desert that no one can cross?

Who is wise enough to understand these things? Who has been taught by the Lord? Who can explain them? Why has the land been destroyed so completely? Why has it become like a desert that no one can go across?

Who is the man so wise that he can understand this? To whom has the mouth of the Lord spoken, that he may declare it? Why is the land ruined and laid waste like a wilderness, so that no one passes through?

Who is wise enough to understand all this? Who has been instructed by the Lord and can explain it to others? Why has the land been so ruined that no one dares to travel through it?

Who is the person wise enough to understand this? Who has the LORD spoken to, that he may explain it? Why is the land destroyed and scorched like a wilderness, so no one can pass through?

Who is the wise person who may understand this? And who is he to whom the mouth of the Lord has spoken, that he may declare it? Why is the land destroyed, laid waste like the desert, so that no one passes through?

Who is the wise man who may understand this? And who is he to whom the mouth of the Lord has spoken, that he may declare it? Why does the land perish and burn up like a wilderness, so that no one can pass through?

Who is the wise man, that may understand this? and who is he to whom the mouth of Jehovah hath spoken, that he may declare it? wherefore is the land perished and burned up like a wilderness, so that none passeth through?

Who is the man wise enough to understand this? Who has the Lord spoken to, that he may explain it? Why is the land destroyed and scorched like a wilderness, so no one can pass through?

Who[ is] the wise man, that may understand this? and[ who is he] to whom the mouth of the LORD hath spoken, that he may declare it, for what the land perisheth[ and] is burned up like a wilderness, that none passeth through?

I said,“ Who is wise enough to understand why this has happened? Who has a word from the LORD that can explain it? Why does the land lie in ruins? Why is it as scorched as a desert through which no one travels?”

Who is wise enough to understand this? Who is he to whom the mouth of Yahweh has spoken, that he may declare it? Why has the land perished and burned up like a wilderness, so that no one passes through?

智慧人必明白這些事，聰明人必知道這一切。耶和華的道是正直的，義人行在其中，罪人卻在其上跌倒。

凡有智慧的必在這些事上留心，他必思想耶和華的慈愛。

使肥沃之地變為荒蕪的鹽地，都因當地居民的邪惡。

這殿雖然崇高，將來凡經過的人必驚訝，嗤笑，說：『耶和華為何向這地和這殿如此行呢？』人必說：『因為此地的人離棄領他們祖先出埃及地的耶和華－他們的上帝，去親近別神，敬拜事奉它們，所以耶和華使這一切災禍臨到他們。』」

「你將這一切的話指示這百姓，他們若問你說：『耶和華為甚麼說，要降這大災禍攻擊我們呢？我們有甚麼罪孽呢？我們向耶和華－我們的上帝犯了甚麼罪呢？』你就對他們說：『因為你們祖先離棄了我，隨從別神，事奉敬拜它們，卻離棄我，不遵守我的律法。這是耶和華說的。你們行惡比你們祖先更甚，看哪，各人隨從自己頑梗的惡心行事，不聽從我。所以我必將你們從這地趕出，直趕到你們和你們祖先素不認識之地。你們在那裏晝夜必事奉別神，因為我必不再向你們施恩。』」

其中的先知同謀背叛，如咆哮的獅子抓撕掠物。他們吞滅人命，搶奪財寶，使這地寡婦增多。其中的祭司曲解我的律法，褻瀆我的聖物，不分別聖與俗，也不使人分辨潔淨和不潔淨，又遮眼不顧我的安息日；在他們中間連我也被褻慢了。其中的領袖彷彿野狼抓撕掠物，流人的血，傷害人命，為得不義之財。其中的先知為他們粉刷，見虛假的異象，行謊詐的占卜，說：『主耶和華如此說』，其實耶和華並沒有說。這地的百姓慣行欺壓搶奪之事，虧負困苦和貧窮的人，欺壓寄居者，沒有公平。我在他們中間尋找一人重修城牆，在我面前為這地站在缺口上，使我不致滅絕它，卻連一個也找不着。所以我把憤怒傾倒在他們身上，用烈怒之火消滅他們，照他們所做的報應在他們頭上。這是主耶和華說的。」

百姓若說：『耶和華－我們的上帝為甚麼向我們行這一切事呢？』你就對他們說：『你們怎樣離棄我，在你們的地上事奉外邦神明，也必照樣在不屬你們的地上事奉外族人。』」當在雅各家傳揚，在猶大宣告，說：

「許多國的百姓經過這城，就彼此談論說：『耶和華為何向這大城這樣做呢？』必有人回答說：『是因他們離棄了耶和華－他們上帝的約，事奉敬拜別神。』」

你們的後代，就是接續你們興起的子孫，和遠方來的外邦人，看見這地的災禍，以及耶和華所降於這地的疾病，遍地都被硫磺和鹽所侵蝕，不能耕種，沒有出產，連草都長不出來，好像耶和華在怒氣和憤怒中所傾覆的所多瑪、蛾摩拉、押瑪、洗扁一樣，萬國必說：『耶和華為甚麼向此地這樣做呢？為甚麼要大發烈怒呢？』人必說：『這是因為這地的人離棄了耶和華－他們列祖的上帝領他們出埃及地的時候與他們所立的約，去事奉別神，敬拜他們所不認識的神明，這是耶和華未曾允許的。所以耶和華的怒氣向這地發作，將這書上所寫的一切詛咒都降在這地上。耶和華在怒氣、憤怒、大惱恨中將他們從本地拔出來，扔到別的地上，像今日一樣。』

誦讀這書上預言的，和那些聽見又遵守其中所記載的，都是有福的，因為時候近了。

惟願他們有智慧，能明白這事，他們就會想到自己的結局。

你們因看見他們的所作所為，得到安慰，就會知道我在耶路撒冷所做的並非毫無緣故。這是主耶和華說的。」

「當你們看見先知但以理所說的那『施行毀滅的褻瀆者』站在聖地（讀這經的人要會意），
