Friend deceives friend, and no one speaks the truth. They have taught their tongues to lie; they weary themselves with sinning.

One friend cheats another. No one tells the truth. They have taught their tongues how to lie. They wear themselves out sinning.

Everyone deceives his neighbor, and no one speaks the truth; they have taught their tongue to speak lies; they weary themselves committing iniquity.

They all fool and defraud each other; no one tells the truth. With practiced tongues they tell lies; they wear themselves out with all their sinning.

Each one betrays his friend; no one tells the truth. They have taught their tongues to speak lies; they wear themselves out doing wrong.

就是悖逆、否認耶和華，轉去不跟從我們的神，說欺壓和背道的話，心裡懷著謊言，隨即說出來；公平被迫後退，公義站在遠處；誠實在街上跌倒，正直不能進入。誠實缺乏，遠離惡事的人反成為掠物。耶和華看見了，就看這為惡事（“就看這為惡事”或譯：“很不喜悅”），因為一點公平也沒有。

你因路途遙遠而困乏，卻不說：“沒有希望了！”因為你找著了生命的力量，所以你不覺得疲倦。

這教訓是出於說謊的人的虛偽，他們的良心好像被燒紅的鐵烙了一般。

他們磨快自己的舌頭，如同刀劍；他們吐出惡毒的言語，好像利箭，

鐵匠先用工具在鐵上雕刻，然後在火炭中加工，再用鎚子把鐵錘成形狀，用他有力的膀臂錘成。他若飢餓，就沒有力量；他若不喝水，就疲乏。木匠拉線，用筆畫出輪廓，用鉋子鉋平，用圓規畫出模樣，做成人的形狀，有人一般的美麗，好住在廟裡。他為自己砍伐香柏樹，或選取榆樹和橡樹，讓它在樹林中長起來；他栽種松樹，讓雨水使它長大。

這鍋真叫人疲累！它厚厚的鏽總沒法除掉，就是用火也不能除掉。

“他們彎曲舌頭，像彎弓一樣；在這地得勢的是虛謊，不是誠實；因為他們變本加厲地作惡，連我也不認識。”這是耶和華的宣告。

各人彼此幫助，對自己的兄弟說：“要堅強！”木匠堅固金匠，用鎚打光金屬的，鼓勵打砧的；論銲工說：“銲得好！”又用釘子釘穩了。使偶像不致動搖。

你使你的口亂說壞話，使你的舌頭編造謊言。

因為他們不行惡，就不能入睡；不使人跌倒，就要失眠。

他們使自己的舌頭尖利，如同蛇的舌頭；他們嘴裡有虺蛇的毒。（細拉）

你胡言亂語可使人不作聲嗎？你嘲笑的時候，無人責備嗎？

所以，你們要除掉謊言，各人要與鄰舍說真話，因為我們彼此是肢體。

看哪！惡人為了罪孽經歷產痛，他懷的是惡毒，生下的是虛謊。

眾民勞碌得來的，被火焚燒；列國辛勞而得的，終歸無有。這不都出於萬軍之耶和華嗎？

那些人虛假的繩索牽引罪孽，又像用車繩拉罪惡的人，有禍了！

他們的舌頭是殺人的利箭，嘴裡說的是詭詐；跟鄰舍說話滿口甜言蜜語，心底裡卻設計陷害他。
