With him I speak mouth to mouth, That is, openly, and not using mysterious language, And he beholds the form of the Lord. So why were you not afraid To speak against My servant, against Moses?”

Jesus* said to him,“ Have I been with you for so long a time, and yet you have not come to know Me, Philip? The one who has seen Me has seen the Father; how can you say,‘ Show us the Father’?

And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us understanding so that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.

Be attentive to him and obey his voice; do not be rebellious toward him, for he will not pardon your rebellion, since My name is in him.

Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.

In the year of King Uzziah’s death I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, lofty and exalted, with the train of His robe filling the temple.Seraphim were standing above Him, each having six wings: with two each covered his face, and with two each covered his feet, and with two each flew.And one called out to another and said,“ Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord of armies. The whole earth is full of His glory.”

Then she called the name of the Lord who spoke to her,“ You are a God who sees me”; for she said,“ Have I even seen Him here and lived after He saw me?”

And the Lord descended in the cloud and stood there with him as he called upon the name of the Lord.Then the Lord passed by in front of him and proclaimed,“ The Lord, the Lord God, compassionate and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in faithfulness and truth;who keeps faithfulness for thousands, who forgives wrongdoing, violation of His Law, and sin; yet He will by no means leave the guilty unpunished, inflicting the punishment of fathers on the children and on the grandchildren to the third and fourth generations.”

When the Lord saw that he turned aside to look, God called to him from the midst of the bush and said,“ Moses, Moses!” And he said,“ Here I am.”Then He said,“ Do not come near here; remove your sandals from your feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy ground.”And He said,“ I am the God of your father— the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” Then Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look at God.

Like a shepherd He will tend His flock, In His arm He will gather the lambs And carry them in the fold of His robe; He will gently lead the nursing ewes.

And the angel of the Lord appeared to him and said to him,“ The Lord is with you, valiant warrior.”Then Gideon said to him,“ O my lord, if the Lord is with us, why then has all this happened to us? And where are all His miracles which our fathers told us about, saying,‘ Did the Lord not bring us up from Egypt?’ But now the Lord has abandoned us and handed us over to Midian.”And the Lord looked at him and said,“ Go in this strength of yours and save Israel from the hand of Midian. Have I not sent you?”But he said to Him,“ O Lord, how am I to save Israel? Behold, my family is the least in Manasseh, and I am the youngest in my father’s house.”Yet the Lord said to him,“ I will certainly be with you, and you will defeat Midian as one man.”So Gideon said to Him,“ If now I have found favor in Your sight, then perform for me a sign that it is You speaking with me.Please do not depart from here until I come back to You, and bring out my offering and lay it before You.” And He said,“ I will remain until you return.”Then Gideon went in and prepared a young goat and unleavened bread from an ephah of flour; he put the meat in a basket and the broth in a pot, and brought them out to him under the oak and presented them.And the angel of God said to him,“ Take the meat and the unleavened bread and lay them on this rock, and pour out the broth.” And he did so.Then the angel of the Lord put out the end of the staff that was in his hand and touched the meat and the unleavened bread; and fire came up from the rock and consumed the meat and the unleavened bread. Then the angel of the Lord vanished from his sight.When Gideon perceived that he was the angel of the Lord, he said,“ Oh, Lord God! For I have seen the angel of the Lord face to face!”But the Lord said to him,“ Peace to you, do not be afraid; you shall not die.”Then Gideon built an altar there to the Lord and named it The Lord is Peace. To this day it is still in Ophrah of the Abiezrites.Now on the same night the Lord said to him,“ Take your father’s bull and a second bull seven years old, and tear down the altar of Baal which belongs to your father, and cut down the Asherah that is beside it;and build an altar to the Lord your God on the top of this stronghold in an orderly way, and take a second bull and offer a burnt offering with the wood of the Asherah which you shall cut down.”

These things Isaiah said because he saw His glory, and he spoke about Him.

Now it came about when Joshua was by Jericho, he raised his eyes and looked, and behold, a man was standing opposite him with his sword drawn in his hand, and Joshua went to him and said to him,“ Are you for us or for our enemies?”He said,“ No; rather I have come now as captain of the army of the Lord.” And Joshua fell on his face to the ground, and bowed down, and said to him,“ What has my lord to say to his servant?”And the captain of the Lord’s army said to Joshua,“ Remove your sandals from your feet, for the place where you are standing is holy.” And Joshua did so.Now Jericho was tightly shut because of the sons of Israel; no one went out and no one came in.But the Lord said to Joshua,“ See, I have handed Jericho over to you, with its king and the valiant warriors.

And he blessed Joseph, and said,“ The God before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked, The God who has been my shepherd all my life to this day,The angel who has redeemed me from all evil, Bless the boys; And may my name live on in them, And the names of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; And may they grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth.”

Now above the expanse that was over their heads there was something resembling a throne, like lapis lazuli in appearance; and on that which resembled a throne, high up, was a figure with the appearance of a man.Then I noticed from the appearance of His waist and upward something like gleaming metal that looked like fire all around within it, and from the appearance of His waist and downward I saw something like fire; and there was a radiance around Him.Like the appearance of the rainbow in the clouds on a rainy day, so was the appearance of the surrounding radiance. Such was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. And when I saw it, I fell on my face and heard a voice speaking.

Now it happened that the poor man died and was carried away by the angels to Abraham’s arms; and the rich man also died and was buried.And in Hades he raised his eyes, being in torment, and* saw Abraham far away and Lazarus in his arms.

For it came about when the flame went up from the altar toward heaven, that the angel of the Lord ascended in the flame of the altar. When Manoah and his wife saw this, they fell on their faces to the ground.Now the angel of the Lord did not appear to Manoah or his wife again. Then Manoah knew that he was the angel of the Lord.So Manoah said to his wife,“ We will certainly die, for we have seen God.”But his wife said to him,“ If the Lord had desired to kill us, He would not have accepted a burnt offering and a grain offering from our hands, nor would He have shown us all these things, nor would He have let us hear things like this at this time.”

As soon as He had finished speaking to Abraham the Lord departed, and Abraham returned to his place.

They say to their mothers,“ Where is grain and wine?” As they faint like a wounded person In the streets of the city, As their lives are poured out In their mothers’ arms.

Then I was beside Him, as a master workman; And I was His delight daily, Rejoicing always before Him,

In the womb he took his brother by the heel, And in his mature strength he contended with God.Yes, he wrestled with the angel and prevailed; He wept and implored His favor. He found Him at Bethel, And there He spoke with us,And the Lord, the God of armies, The Lord is His name.

Lying back on Jesus’ chest was one of His disciples, whom Jesus loved.

“ For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life.For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but so that the world might be saved through Him.The one who believes in Him is not judged; the one who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
