耶穌對曰：『人子見榮之日至矣、

會猶太人之免難節將屆、節前多有自鄉間上耶路撒冷者、先行取潔、

諭畢、耶穌舉目向天曰：『父、時至矣！榮爾子、俾子歸榮於父！

耶穌夙知諸事之必臨於身、乃出而謂之曰：『爾等覓誰？』

吾以父之所以愛我者愛爾。爾其勉旃、恆保吾愛。爾能守吾之誡、所以保吾之愛也；正如吾守吾父之誡、而至今猶保其愛焉。

凡予所諭於爾者、爾亦當教之共守。予日與爾俱、迄於世末。』

時去免難節兼除酵節、僅二日矣。大司祭及經生共謀所以執耶穌而置之死地；且曰：『不宜於節中行之、恐民生變。』

爾已聞予言之、予去當復來、爾若真愛予者、則宜因予歸父而喜、以父實大於予也。

『爾知十日後、即為免難節、人子將被縛而釘於十字架矣。』斯時、司祭長及民間耆老、方群集於大司祭該法院中思以詭謀曲陷耶穌、而置之於死；惟曰：『毋於節日行之、恐民生變。』

既返、謂門徒曰：『爾今可臥以暫憩矣！惟時立至、人子將陷於罪人之手。

維時除酵節、亦稱免難節、已近、司祭長與經生正謀所以殺耶穌、第畏民眾。

耶穌曰：『一日之中、非有十二時乎？人若晝行、睹斯世之光、必不見蹶。若夜行、則無光而蹶矣。』

有欲執之者、然竟無人下手、其時未至也。

曩予與爾相偕、故未以此語爾；今予辭別復命、爾中竟無問我何歸者！茲聞予言、爾乃不勝憂戚。實以相告、予之去、爾之益也。蓋予不去、則保慰恩師不至。予去當遣之來。

此乃耶穌在聖殿銀庫院中講道時所言：以其時未至、無人敢加以拘逮。

惟基督則為嗣子乃聖宅之主人也。聖宅者何、吾人是已；亦在吾人常存蓬勃之朝氣、與夫浩然之望德、堅忍不拔、莫負初心而已矣。

予日在殿中與爾眾俱、而爾未曾執予、惟今乃爾曹之時、黑闇乘權矣。』

今求吾父、賜予偕享創世前與父共有之榮！

應知吾人能堅信不渝、始終如一、則與基督融為一體矣。

耶穌對曰：『吾時未至、爾曹則隨時均可；

故宜振作爾心、昭昭惺惺、凝神壹志、以望耶穌基督臨格時所攜之聖寵。

耶穌對曰：『往告彼狐、予於今日明日逐魔治疾、第三日將畢吾程；雖然今日明日後日、必須奮赴前程；先知固不宜死於耶路撒冷外。

耶穌昇天之期既近、遂毅然決然嚮往耶路撒冷、

今予歸父、而猶遺言於世者、欲使吾心之樂、沛然充溢於若輩之心也。予既以吾父聖道授之、而世乃疾之如讎、以其不屬乎世、正如予之不屬乎世也。

人之愛、莫大於為其友舍生；爾能遵行吾之所命、是吾友也。

天主亦必賜爾等堅守信德、始終不渝；庶幾爾等於耶穌基督重臨之日、聖德全備、無懈可擊。

雖然、賴愛我者之大力、吾人已戰勝一切災害、且綽綽乎有餘裕矣。
