In the same way, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. All of you clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.

In every way I’ve shown you that it is necessary to help the weak by laboring like this and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, because he said,‘ It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”

It is not to be like that among you. On the contrary, whoever is greatest among you should become like the youngest, and whoever leads, like the one serving.For who is greater, the one at the table or the one serving? Isn’t it the one at the table? But I am among you as the one who serves.

Therefore, since Christ suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same understanding— because the one who suffers in the flesh is finished with sin—

For you were called to be free, brothers and sisters; only don’t use this freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but serve one another through love.

Although he was the Son, he learned obedience from what he suffered.After he was perfected, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him,

Therefore, if food causes my brother or sister to fall, I will never again eat meat, so that I won’t cause my brother or sister to fall.

make my joy complete by thinking the same way, having the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose.Do nothing out of selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility consider others as more important than yourselves.Everyone should look not to his own interests, but rather to the interests of others.Adopt the same attitude as that of Christ Jesus,who, existing in the form of God, did not consider equality with God as something to be exploited.Instead he emptied himself by assuming the form of a servant, taking on the likeness of humanity. And when he had come as a man,he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death— even to death on a cross.

But it is not so among you. On the contrary, whoever wants to become great among you will be your servant,and whoever wants to be first among you will be a slave to all.For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

Brothers and sisters, if someone is overtaken in any wrongdoing, you who are spiritual, restore such a person with a gentle spirit, watching out for yourselves so that you also won’t be tempted.Carry one another’s burdens; in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.

It must not be like that among you. On the contrary, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant,and whoever wants to be first among you must be your slave;just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

Although I am free from all and not anyone’s slave, I have made myself a slave to everyone, in order to win more people.To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win Jews; to those under the law, like one under the law— though I myself am not under the law— to win those under the law.To those who are without the law, like one without the law— though I am not without God’s law but under the law of Christ— to win those without the law.To the weak I became weak, in order to win the weak. I have become all things to all people, so that I may by every possible means save some.

Now we who are strong have an obligation to bear the weaknesses of those without strength, and not to please ourselves.Each one of us is to please his neighbor for his good, to build him up.For even Christ did not please himself. On the contrary, as it is written, The insults of those who insult you have fallen on me.

keeping our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith. For the joy that lay before him, he endured the cross, despising the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Now I, Paul, myself, appeal to you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ— I who am humble among you in person but bold toward you when absent.

For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ: Though he was rich, for your sake he became poor, so that by his poverty you might become rich.

Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud; instead, associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own estimation.

Love one another deeply as brothers and sisters. Take the lead in honoring one another.
