Jesus gave them this answer:“ Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does.

But if I do them, even though you do not believe me, believe the works, that you may know and understand that the Father is in me, and I in the Father.”

how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him.

He testifies to what he has seen and heard, but no one accepts his testimony.Whoever has accepted it has certified that God is truthful.For the one whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God gives the Spirit without limit.

For I did not speak on my own, but the Father who sent me commanded me to say all that I have spoken.

For I gave them the words you gave me and they accepted them. They knew with certainty that I came from you, and they believed that you sent me.

I and the Father are one.”

For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form,

So Jesus said,“ When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am he and that I do nothing on my own but speak just what the Father has taught me.

that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.

In his defense Jesus said to them,“ My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I too am working.”

For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me.And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all those he has given me, but raise them up at the last day.For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.”

On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.

For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him,

I am telling you what I have seen in the Father’s presence, and you are doing what you have heard from your father.”

Jesus answered,“ My teaching is not my own. It comes from the one who sent me.

that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one—I in them and you in me— so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.

As it is, you are looking for a way to kill me, a man who has told you the truth that I heard from God. Abraham did not do such things.

and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?”

why gaze in envy, you rugged mountain, at the mountain where God chooses to reign, where the Lord himself will dwell forever?The chariots of God are tens of thousands and thousands of thousands; the Lord has come from Sinai into his sanctuary.When you ascended on high, you took many captives; you received gifts from people, even from the rebellious— that you, Lord God, might dwell there.
