If you love me, keep my commandments.

This is how we know that we know him: if we keep his commandments.One who says,“ I know him,” and doesn’t keep his commandments, is a liar, and the truth isn’t in him.But God’s love has most certainly been perfected in whoever keeps his word. This is how we know that we are in him:

By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep his commandments.For this is loving God, that we keep his commandments. His commandments are not grievous.

One who has my commandments and keeps them, that person is one who loves me. One who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him, and will reveal myself to him.”Judas( not Iscariot) said to him,“ Lord, what has happened that you are about to reveal yourself to us, and not to the world?”Jesus answered him,“ If a man loves me, he will keep my word. My Father will love him, and we will come to him, and make our home with him.He who doesn’t love me doesn’t keep my words. The word which you hear isn’t mine, but the Father’s who sent me.

We love him, because he first loved us.If a man says,“ I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who doesn’t love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?

If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and remain in his love.I have spoken these things to you, that my joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be made full.“ This is my commandment, that you love one another, even as I have loved you.Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.You are my friends, if you do whatever I command you.

For the love of Christ constrains us; because we judge thus, that one died for all, therefore all died.He died for all, that those who live should no longer live to themselves, but to him who for their sakes died and rose again.

whom, not having known, you love. In him, though now you don’t see him, yet believing, you rejoice greatly with joy that is unspeakable and full of glory,

For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision amounts to anything, nor uncircumcision, but faith working through love.

He who loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; and he who loves son or daughter more than me isn’t worthy of me.

I was in prison, and you came to me.’“ Then the righteous will answer him, saying,‘ Lord, when did we see you hungry, and feed you; or thirsty, and give you a drink?When did we see you as a stranger, and take you in; or naked, and clothe you?When did we see you sick, or in prison, and come to you?’“ The King will answer them,‘ Most certainly I tell you, because you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’

I speak not by way of commandment, but as proving through the earnestness of others the sincerity also of your love.For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that you through his poverty might become rich.

Therefore Jesus said to them,“ If God were your father, you would love me, for I came out and have come from God. For I haven’t come of myself, but he sent me.

If any man doesn’t love the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be cursed. Come, Lord!

that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, that you may be strengthened with power through his Spirit in the inner person,that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, to the end that you, being rooted and grounded in love,may be strengthened to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and height and depth,

So when they had eaten their breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter,“ Simon, son of Jonah, do you love me more than these?” He said to him,“ Yes, Lord; you know that I have affection for you.” He said to him,“ Feed my lambs.”He said to him again a second time,“ Simon, son of Jonah, do you love me?” He said to him,“ Yes, Lord; you know that I have affection for you.” He said to him,“ Tend my sheep.”He said to him the third time,“ Simon, son of Jonah, do you have affection for me?” Peter was grieved because he asked him the third time,“ Do you have affection for me?” He said to him,“ Lord, you know everything. You know that I have affection for you.” Jesus said to him,“ Feed my sheep.

Grace be with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ with incorruptible love. Amen.

However, I consider those things that were gain to me as a loss for Christ.Yes most certainly, and I count all things to be a loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus, my Lord, for whom I suffered the loss of all things, and count them nothing but refuse, that I may gain Christand be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own, that which is of the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith,that I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, becoming conformed to his death,if by any means I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.

according to my earnest expectation and hope, that I will in no way be disappointed, but with all boldness, as always, now also Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death.For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.But if I live on in the flesh, this will bring fruit from my work; yet I don’t know what I will choose.But I am hard pressed between the two, having the desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better.
