多默曰：『主乎、吾儕既不知爾之所往、又焉能識其途哉？』

Thomas said to him,“ Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?”

“ You unbelieving people!” Jesus replied.“ How long do I have to stay with you? How long do I have to put up with you? Bring the boy to me.”

But in fact, you need someone to teach you all over again. You need even the simple truths of God’s word. You need milk, not solid food.

Jesus said to them,“ How foolish you are! How long it takes you to believe all that the prophets said!

Jesus knew what they were saying. So he asked them,“ Why are you talking about having no bread? Why can’t you see or understand? Are you stubborn?Do you have eyes and still don’t see? Do you have ears and still don’t hear? And don’t you remember?

So they told him,“ We have seen the Lord!” But he said to them,“ First I must see the nail marks in his hands. I must put my finger where the nails were. I must put my hand into his side. Only then will I believe.”A week later, Jesus’ disciples were in the house again. Thomas was with them. Even though the doors were locked, Jesus came in and stood among them. He said,“ May peace be with you!”Then he said to Thomas,“ Put your finger here. See my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.”Thomas said to him,“ My Lord and my God!”
